Alegria's Hostel was a good choice, while staying in Bogota, even though it was not my first choice. The hostel itself consists of two buildings and two dogs:) I booked a dorm&had the luck to stay in a 10 bed dorm as the only female. But it was really nice and I got to know some cool people. The dorm is smaller than the dorms in the main building, but had cool features such as high ceilings&a fireplace, nevertheless I missed the lockers. The breakfast is good and Alegria can give awesome tips.

This hostel is a party hostel. The included breakfast is a joke... a basket of croissant's with nothing to put on them, yumi...! with the amount of hostels in the area we will not be back.

I was in a rush to grab a hostel because some plans fell through and I booked a night at Allegria's. It was such a great decision!! The other travelers were amazing, Allegria and the rest of her staff were even better! The whole stay could not have gone any better and I can't wait to come back next time I'm traveling through Bogota. Definitely stay here the place is phenomenal to hang out, especially with Allegria's dogs!

I can tell the building is very nice and quite colonial, internet can be a pain, beds are comfy but rooms can be smelly, the girl called Alegria is very sweet and always there for you, free croissant and milk breakfast, be aware one of the recepcionists took a comission from the taxi driver for calling his specific services which he later wanted to pass onto me on the final fare!

This was a great hostal. The woman noticed I was cold one night and made me a poncho out of a blanket to keep me warm. The dorm rooms are super crowded (more beds than advertised online) but still a great hostal.

Very good hostal staff where very helpful and map of area very good. Maybe empty toilet bins daily or more often would be one area of improvement but altogether had a great stay

Choose Alegria! I loved my stay here! I chose to come back to Alegria at my return to Bogotá. Great location, excellent athmosphere. Breakfast is good, with coffee, juice and croissants. The staff is also really nice, and they arrange dancing clases every night! Thay are really helpful with all the info you need. There are two beautiful and nice dogs living here, they are so cute:) Will definitely come back if I'll be in Bogotá again:)

Staff was friendly and location ok but we were seriously disappointed by the rooms and the house in general.... What you can see on the pictures is NOT what you get!!! Don't understand all the positive comments. It's an average hostel, not the worst I've stayed in so far, but you can find so much better and even cheaper places in Bogota! And cleanliness wasn't a hit either and it was not because of the two dogs. Although rooms were really small and it smelled... Would not recommend it, sorry!

Love it here still here, many days after I was supposed to leave. Make sure you do the traditional game Tejo with Cēsar, it involves explosives and free beer what else could you want!

Only planned on staying for 2 nights but ended up staying for 2 weeks! Would definitely recommend, very friendly and helpfull staff! The 2 beautiful dogs just topped it off for me, they give the place a very homely feel.. Awesome!

We really enjoyed our stay at Alegrias! The hostel is in a what we considered to be the best part of Bogota. We stayed in the private room, which has a great view of the city. The staff was very nice and helpful, but some spoke very little English. I would highly recommend staying here.

I think the appropriate word to define this hostel is: cozy. I little disappointed with the staff who was not very able to help me with my questions. Anyway i highly recommend it.

The building is an amazing old house in a beautiful neighborhood in Bogota. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and patient. There were problems with the toilets clogging up. I would recommend signs in all the bathrooms so that foreigners know not to flush toilet tissue. Other than the hassle of bathrooms not functioning (!) we had a wonderful experience in this hostel. We've already recommended it to friends who were traveling through Bogota. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to you!

Friendly staff. Good clean comfy beds, and warm blankets which was great. Clean bathroom. Spacious communal areas. A quiet environment as opposed to a party hostel which was good for me. This is a great hostel but being completely honest i really didn't like the drugs "roll up" going on in the back yard next to my dorm. I know it's Colombia but don't allow your guests to impose their habits on other travellers. We're not all into that sort of thing. I appreciate maybe you didn't know about it.
