The hostel is only a km away from Florence S.M.N railway station. And is very close to all tourist locations. The only problem is, there is only 1 toilet and bathroom for around 15 people which creates a problem in the morning and wastes a lot of time. Apart from this the hostel is really good.

Location is very good, but the smell in rooms if you open the window will be terrible! And the sight view was the wall with garbage on the ground.. It's too expensive for such servise. If i will visit this city again i will stay in another place, definitly!

I was very disapointed with the Alekin Hostel. The hotel has very good location and this is the only positive thing I can write. I found the hostel very dirty, the bathroom was so small and dirty that I was afraid to use it. There was only one small bathroom with toilet for 4 rooms. Our room was not ready when we arrived - someone clean it but the only thing that was clean was the sheets. The owner /employee was rude and not helpfull at all. I felt very relieved when I left this hostel.

Nice place in the city center, with free wifi, a common fridge and a small bathroom, but without kitchen. Recommend it!

The best thing about this place is the location. If you are planning to be out most of the day and only sleep at the hostel then this is the right place. The guy at the "reception" is very nice, and very helpful (although he is never there, pretty much you need to let him know when you will have to meet him). The place was always clean but I did not like the facilities. There is only one restroom per floor but in my case it was never an issue.

None of the hostel rooms looks like the ones that're presented on the pictures! I got a room which was looking more like a kitchen where someone put just some additional beds. On the floor there was water coming from the was basin inside. Needless to say. The smell was horrible. Even though the official check in time's 11 am, my room was still not tidied at 2:30! I got in to the room with dirty bed linen and rubbish! When it comes to the security, there's no one in the reception at day and night

It was a nice place to stay with an awesome location. The staff was very friendly, and my room was a decent enough size. The only real problem I had was that the place is difficult to find. There is no sign for the hostel and it is difficult to locate the address.

The place was almost impossible to find - there is no sign, just a word on the buzzer on the front door. Even for its not high price the place is too dirty - when I moved in there were wisps of dust and garbage on the floor of the private room I was staying in. The bathroom was not clean either, though there were only a few people staying in the hostel at that moment. The place is very small (but this can be easily balanced by the very central location), with not even a kettle provided.

Cons: my single room didn't have a window, and the queue for the bathroom was sometimes crowded, my bed didn't have double sheets. Pros: wi-fi worked perfectly, it's at a walking distance from Piazza della Signoria, price was very low.

Comfy hostel, the location is great. There was just one day that the shower got clogged, but it was fixed and there is only one shower in the hostel and two upstairs, but the two upstars you need to ring the bell, so if there is nobody there, you can't use them.

The Alekin Hostel was in a great location. Although not the nicest or absolute cleanest, it was definitely worth the cheap price. It was clean enough!

The worst hostel I've ever been. There were only one bathroom for the 5 bedrooms on the floor (with at least 4 beds each). And when there were problems with the bathroom (we had two, one it run out of paper, the other was the shower got clogged) there were nobody to talk to. The hostel couldn't be paid by card and they didn't tell us on the reservation. You have to sign a contract written in italian (no english version). The hostel has no common room, no kitchen.
