I travel to Dar regularly for my business but like to spend as little as possible on hotels, which can be so expensive and usually not worth the money, which I'd rather put toward other expenses, like paying my Tanzanian colleagues better salaries. Alemap House is going to be my home base from now on; it's in a convenient, safe location between Mikocheni and Kijitonyama, has reliable Internet *and* hot water, good food, and most important, a charming family. Thank you to Nancy and her family!

Very pleasant and helpful staff, lovely interior design - brand new, clean and conditioned, quiet place, guarded territory, good price. The only thing one should care is more thorough directions: the hotel is new and nearby folk does not know how to get there.
