This is a Migrant workers' hostel which occasionally also takes travellers. Being the only traveller in the hostel, imagine how much sympathy you get when you want to take a shower in the morning while everyone wants to get ready to work. I felt like a nuisance to them. There were no lockers and the rooms hat no locks either.

We were in Alex Villa for 3 days, Alex was really welcoming and kind. Alex speaks perfectly english, which is kinda rare in Romania cause I am there for a second time and really appreciated this. He offered us a lot of info about the spots arround the Villa. It was really close to the center. Although its pretty cheap you receive everything you need for that money.

First at all we have to say that the price was very very low. Maybe quality and price is ok.The owner was really really nice, he gave us a very good treat; we would prefer to give him a better comment. In my opinion the room and toilet were not enough cleaned. It is a good place for backpackers with little money.

We only stayed briefly the hostel was nice Alex needs to smile more.

Close to the center, easy access from the airport. Alex and his staff are welcoming, trustworthy and very helpful; speak several languages; assist you with advices on sightseeing, transportations etc. The place and its equipments are basic but you will have what is necessary; the place is clean, quiet and the value for money is more than good. We had no trouble concerning security while staying there. We had a very good experience in Alex Villa and we recommend the place warmly.

The place is not more than 60% (the 100% reviews are cheats). The AC does not work, and since it did not work two years before, it is likely to remain that way. The bathroom door is almost see-through, and the bath is smelly, though seems clean. The center is 15m by feet, so depending on how bid a city you are from, it is centrally located. The host is very friendly and helpful. However, because of heat, mosquito and the clinking sound of the rain in the gutter drain we had a terrible night

There was nothing wrong with this hostel, and for what you pay it's a pretty good deal. However, there are no lockers and no locks for the doors. The location is pretty good, 15 minute walk to city centre. The owner did do everything I requested of him, but he had a pretty bad attitude and everything seemed like a chore. During my stay there really weren't any other guests either. Facilities were as you'd expect with the shower and toilet kept very clean

Location is perfect since its so Close to Downtown and situated in a very quiet area. The staff was very serviceminded and very helpful.

Very good location, perfect for visiting the city center by foot. The owner gave us a lot of useful information about things to do in Bucharest and he was also very friendly. I strongly recommend this hostel if you are looking for a low budget quality break.

It is not a hostel. It is a private home and you feel that you are always bothering the owner. When you look at the photos online and then you get there it has nothing to do. About location is not actually as central as thay explain. Downtown is far away id you go by foot.

If you want a party hostel, steer well clear. But to get a good (hot) night sleep in a good location then it is fine... Arrive after midnight at your peril! Otherwise it is close to the center in the beautiful city of Bucharest... The bathrooms and rooms were clean.

As the cheapest room available I didn't have very high expectations but... The two rooms near the entrance are so close to reception and have such thin framed glass doors that the light and noise from even the receptionist wakes you up throughout the night. Some people check in at 4am! The room was also really hot in summer and the windows let in mosquitoes that bite you all over. A random dog entered my room and stole my sock (haha). There is zero internal security.

They don't have airconditioning! They do, but it's broken, and they're not planning on fixing it. We started off bad: The woman of the family checked us in spoke 0 English, so very awkward situation. We (couple) booked a private room but got a dorm with 5 beds, and we weren't 100% sure nobody else would check in during the 5 days we stayed. Nobody did, but it was still strange. Also: No curtains! And: People can see you when you pee or take a shower. Ok location, but that's about it.

Spent one night-no a/c & really hot in Bucharest. Bathroom w/ shower had a lightly frosted door, so if you weren't with your partner & female, it's not very private-also curtain in room is too shear to call private. Granted it was Friday nite & Bucharest comes alive late at nite because of the daytime heat, but the family that owns the hostel was so loud until midnite or 1am and we hadn't slept the nite before that it really left us with a horrible night's sleep. No common room, no breakfast.

without breakfast!!!!!

heating in room non functioning. no lounge area or any seating, no tea or coffee facilities. common bathroom dirty and rusty. No drapes on window. Certainly not a place to recomend.

Very cold staff. Quite far from the center and no transportation near the hostel. Quite impersonal too

Nice staff and very helpfull... Clean bathroom and rooms. I recommend it to spend a short time in Bucarest
