The Riad was closed on arrival and we were not informed (closed for a while due to electric problems). The location of the advertised Riad was not great at all ether. ON A MORE POSITIVE NOTE...we were moved to Alexandra Riad 3 right near the central square with nice staff where we were well looked after. But it was pretty average. I would not recommend booking with Alexandra 1 due to the hassle unless you are really in need.

We actually got moved to Yasmin II, which is also owned by the same family. It was fantastic and they took great care of us, whatever we needed.

This is a very good value for money type of place but it\\\'s just a bit difficult to get to Jemma El Fna if that\\\'s where you intend on going. Christophe is very very sweet and speaks pretty good English. His mother is the most gentle and lovely woman in all of Marrakesh and the two of them really go out of their way to make you feel welcomed. The only thing is it\\\'s not a hostel per se, not a lively one anyway.

The staff (mother of owner + housekeeper) only speak Arabic (not Eng or Fr!) so they could not help w/ directions or suggestions, but they were sweet, friendly. The riad was clean but ant-infested, and a 20-30 min walk from Djemaa El Fna, located in a poorer neighborhood north of the old city, and is also further away from RAK airport. Not worth the hassle or $ saved on room rate.
