This hostel is an adorable, communal place that epitomizes the traveling experience for young people. Would gladly stay here on a future visit to Montreal.

the best thing about this hostel was its atmosphere. the lobby area is very cozy and perfect for a coffee/tea and a book during hours you have nothing else to do. the people are all friendly and easy to talk to. here you'll find people who live in the moment and enjoy life

Can't get wifi in the room. Also the 8 people dorm is super cramp. Can't even find a place to put my luggage. The location of the hostel is only descent. It's quite far from the metro station also most of the attractions is within 30 minutes by walking.

This hostel made my stay in Montreal bloody fantastic. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and always willing to go out of their way to help, facilities were well maintained, very good atmosphere and when I passed out from too much tequila they made sure I woke up the next morning cheers lads :D

The location was perfect - right in the village. It was also conveniently located near the bus terminal to catch bus 747 to and fro the airport. In addition, the hostel was very homely and had a nice rustic feel to it. The social area was very happening and I made many friends there whom I hanged out with a night, during the day and whenever we could. Met many different people from around the world and this should be the place to go to if you want to meet more people.

Very friendly and knowledgeable team, great breakfast and spaceful place. A bit too loud for me, but I'm not in their main customer target :-)

The staff were great and able to speak french and ENGLISH. They were happy to give advice able things to do and see in Montreal, and also organised activities of an evening or weekend to involve people staying at the hostel. The activities were a great way to meet other travelers. Probably the highlight of my week in Montreal was a group trip to Tamtam drum circle and picnic in the park at Mont Royal organised by the staff. 1000's of people enjoying the sun in the park. Awesome!

I stayed in a single room in the adjoining apartment..., double bed...tv....shared bathroom..kitchen...what more could you ask for for the price! The facilities are a little dated but still its all you need. The staff were great...fun and very helpful with information. I would stay here again and recommend it to others for sure. Thanks guys!

This is my first time staying in a hostel, and I loved it. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. I stayed in the single room with shared bathroom. It surprised me with the extremely comfortable double bed. It's very clean and quite and we have our own kitchen in the little apartment. Free laundry!

We're a couple in our late 20s and have travelled the length and bredth of the Canada. The Alexandrie is the hostel jewel in the crown. Very friendly staff, nice community feel, large common and cooking area,, great bed and facilities (can only comment on private room), quiet street but close to coach station and major underground metro hub and all for a reasonable price. If you're looking for a hostel in Montreal, don't bother looking anywhere else.

I don't normally write reviews but in this case I'll make an exception. I have been travelling the world for a long time now and this is one of my favorite hostels of all time. what makes this place is the staff. most helpful, friendliest staff anywhere! the common room on the main floor is HUGE! plenty of room to gather and meet people. free breakfast and laundry facilities. reasonably quiet location but close to everything. this place has it all. Highly recommended.

Friendly staff, good environment. The only thing I dis-liked was that there was no internet available in dorms and the internet in the lobby was slow too.
