Great homy atmosphere, delisiocs breakfasts and dinners (8eu). Alfama is less commercial and touristy area of Lisbon, shops are small, run by Lisboners. it is also oldest part of Lisbon and in my opinion has most authentic character. Staff is really nice and helpful. Patio and roof terrace is perfect to have a meal in the morning, chill-out in the afternoon, or having a barbecue in the evening. It's clean, cosy and relaxed. aG

Great Location in Alfama. close to markets and local bars. You live with the locals so its different then staying in city centers and only being around other tourists. Awesome free! breakfast. And the Staff is over the top helpful they make sure you know where your going and how you are going to get there. And they tell you what not to do and if its a wast of money. Thanks!

This is a truly great hostel in an incredible part of town! I would definitely recommend anyone stay here. It's really chilled out and cool if you are no longer 18!

It can be a bit hard to find, but how it's hidden sure makes you feel secure like entering another little world. The kitchen is great and this was the first time I bothered to actually use one in a hostel. What I really loved was that the 6 bed dorm we were staying in had little sub-rooms for each bunk bed. Even though there are no doors, it gives you that little bit of extra privacy. So this is a good choice for couples who don't intend doing anything inappropriate but still like to share a bed

Perfectly located, clean, beautiful, excellent view on the sea/river from the terrace, perfectly english speaking staff. Definitely the place to be. The other 2 hostels of the same group located in Rossio and near the River, are also amazing.

Difícil de chegar, não porque é longe do metro, mas graças à ruas estreitas e cheias de curvas. A bit hard To get To, because even though it's near To the subway station, the streets are narrow and steep.

Alfama Patio Hostel was our first hostel experience on our trip and so far still one of the best!! We won't forget the most friendly layed back staff, especially the first face we saw, Caroline!! You're the best!!! Very helpful here with direction and suggestions for things to do in Lisbon. The rooftop patio has an amazing view, stocked beer/wine fridge for small cost, different tours of city and surrounding areas each day. All in all this hostel will be a highlight on your trip!PeteCarNicole xx

Alfama's staff was very personable, friendly and welcoming. They also were very knowledgable about the city. The breakfast pancakes were AMAZING to the point that they were the main reason why I would wake up half an hour earlier. We would recommend the walking tour. We loved to have free access to destination hostel and enjoy there facilities (pool tables, relaxing lobby and bathrooms). The location is very central and has quiet a view night and day... We would for sure go back to Alfama.

Three friends spent one night at Alfama Patio Hostel in May. Really nice staff. We wanted to spend one more night at Lisbon, we didn't have booked and the hostel was full, so they get another room to us at Sunset Destination Hostel with 10% of discount. Beautiful views of river Tagus. The breakfast was included in the price and it was quite good. Our room was clean and comfortable

The location of the hostel was really good, it's in the center of the lovely district of Alfama and also just a short walk away from downtown and the train station. The hostel itself is beautiful, you can really chill and enjoy great views of Alfama and the river. Breakfast was also great, and the staff was super friendly. One thing I'd suggest on improving is the sound proof facilities between the floors - I was on the first floor and I could hear every footstep and door closing from above.

We had a private double room on the first floor. Room was comfortable, clean, and adorable. The only down point was the WC on the first floor is down 2 corridors. Another guest said on the other floors the WC is closer to the rooms.

If you want to stay in the old part of Lisbon, this is the place to stay. If you don't like walking, don't stay here. It has a great patio with a view and has very friendly and accommodating staff.

One of the best hostel I've ever stayed! The "spirit" of the place allows the travellers to meet each easily. Smiling staff, clean dorms, delicious dinners, central and calm location. At the end, you will wondering yourself only one thing: "Is there still a free bed to stay a little bit longer?"

This hostel was AMAZING!! It had sister hostel which we just as nice or even more. I thought the staff was fantastic :) And the complimentary free pancake breakfast was great as well. You can't go wrong if you choose this hostel. In fact, if I ever return to Lisbon, I will definitely be staying here again :)
