Alfama Patio Hostel Reviews

A beautiful charming hostel with the amenities of a hotel, for the cost of a hostel! My friend and I walked into a room smelling of roses with beautiful flowers on the desk and pretty flowers painted on the walls. Breakfast is yummy and fresh. Security is great- there's always someone at the desk even late at night to let you into the safely gated area. The patio gives a lovely view of the city and the location is in the heart of Alfama, a close walk to the city center and restaurants/bars.

Great hostel to meet people- the patio is awesome and they have great events everyday. Not located super close to anything but you can find some nice restaurants if you walk a bit and the metro is pretty close and easy to find which was so convenient. The staff were amazing and really helped us out figuring out where to go and what to do. Only thing I didn't love was the bathroom situation- I would definitely recommend doing a shared bathroom over the ensuite ones which are pretty tiny.

Excellent hostel. The staff are extremly friendly and helpful, also very cool that the hostel arranges trips, pubcrawls etc. One of the best hostels I've been to so far

Very good welcome at our arrival. Hostel crew is very adorable and smily. The free breakfast is an excellent idea to meet people and eat together.

Great character, location, and staff. Poor facilities. The only toilet on the first floor is in the lobby making for an awkward situation. Also, the evening meals are too expensive.

Loved the hostel! Amazing location, great activities, and a fantastic 8€ 3 course dinner. ONLY downside is getting out of the train station and having to walk up this hill/mountain whose street structure rivals that of Venice's.

The best hostel I've ever been! Clean, cheap, great atmosphere, great people :) Breakfasts with homemade pancakes and delicious dinners in patio make You feel like at home. I definitely recommend this place in 100%!

This hostel is wonderful! The staff is great, so kind and helpful. The hostel offers so many awesome activities. You really feel like a "Lisbon local" when you're there. The food is great, and the barbecues and pub crawls are great chances to meet other travelers. Make sure you book the day trip to Sintra, worth every penny!

This was the best hostel I've stayed in since coming to Europe ! amazing vibes, great excursions if you want to see some nearby towns, and the cook is amazing! Love this place!

The Alfama Patio Hostel was an awesome place to stay. The staff was great, the events were great, and the rooms were very cozy.

Very friendly atmosphere, this is definitely the best place to stay.

Positive Points : Quite a nice hostel! In the middle of the alfama zone and close to almost all the points. Including almost all what you need for a simple trip(ex. Hair dryer, washing machine etc), Adorable atmosphere, cheap and nice meals, Negative Points: Don't believe google maps, I've been cheated the first day while finding the hostel. Not very close to Metro station(about 15-20mins on foot) but less than 1 min from the nearest little tram station(No 28).

I had an awesome weekend at Alfama Patio Hostel! Thanks to all the staff for your advice and good spirits :) The breakfast was super good and the patio was a nice place to relax and meet other travelers. The only negative I noticed was that there were no shelves in the shower/sink rooms- it would have been nice to have a place to set bathroom items by the sink while getting ready in the morning/for bed. I hope to return to Lisbon someday and I would definitely stay at Alfama again! :)

Alfama Patio Hostel is a fantastic place to stay. The staff is really friendly making you feel at home from the moment you arrive. The location in the old quarter of Alfama is also really nice, nearby the city centre and easy to reach by tram. The place is clean and cozy and the breakfast is good. We had a great time in Lisbon and I really recommend this hostel to anyone who is planning to visit Lisbon

Bad bed/mattress and extremely tiny bathroom. Everything else was just great.
