Absolutely great place to stay in Lisbon! We normally stay in hotels and staying in a hostel was a first time for my wife and me. We thoroughly loved it. Although we were older than the young crowd at the hostel, we had great fun interacting with the travelers as well as the staff. We could never have come to know about so many interesting people and their experiences by staying in a hotel. The location is great the staff is very friendly, and kitchen+living room are perfect to eat and interact.

Great place to stay: really nice house and location, especially friendly staff and excellent food in the evenings. And last, a really cute dog ;-). Only downside is the current construction site on the other side of the road that makes a bit of the racket in the morning.

A very well situated hostel in the historic quarter of Alfama ,with the electric N° 28 in the street . An excellent adress for staying a few days in Lisboa, kind staff ,clean rooms and dormitory ,kitchen and breakfast nice , and dinner superbly cooked for 8 e if you order .Thanks to the cooker ! I went in many Hostels in the world, but this is rather exceptionnelle . I recommand it . Regine and Sarah from France

Alfama Hostel is brilliant! A home away from home! We were so welcomed and immediately felt comfortable. Located in beautiful Old Town, you really feel like Lisbon is your home. A wonderful roof terrace and outdoor common areas, there was always a nice vibe. All the staff are great humans. Such a nice mix of hosts that will welcome you dearly . Stay here! You won't be disappointed. Breakfast was delicious too. See you soon Alfama

Sehr empfehlenswert!

I had the best time here! The Portuguese cook is the greatest! She's the best option to try out the codfish with potatoes and cream. Every night she cooks in the garden. The dorms are spacious and clean. The double bedrooms however are too small for the price they ask! On the second flour the bathrooms are also too small. On the first floor bathrooms are excellent. The staff was very friendly and very social! The Fado tour is recommendable! There's also a cocktail guy! I loved the atmosphere!

Wonderful place, I wish I could live there permanently! Im reccommending it to all of my friends now. Staff are so friendly. And breakfast is quite an experience - its like a regular breakfast, just in a wonderful garden with great music. What I would improve is noise isolation as the street is noisy and I always ended by waking up early in the mornings (but maybe that was just me). The place is all homely and small enough for me to meet most of the guest. I really liked it there.

My 4 bed dorm was in a tiny room...bed just average comparing with other hostels I stayed. Construction of the lockers not very safe, some were out of order! Everything a bit narrowed...

Really nice staff!

The Alfama Patio Hostel is located in a very get-at-able position in the heart of Alfama, very close to the tram stop, it's very clean and there is plenty of nice food for breakfast. The staff is excellent, but since there are many shifts during the day you may have to ask the same thing to two or three members. They also organize many different and interesting activities. The only downside is the Wi-Fi connection, which is quite poor and often not working. I'd definitely recommend it! =D

I spent an entire week at Alfama Patio Hostel & really enjoyed it! The staff is very nice & helpful. The organised trips they offer are worth every cent & really fun, especially the Sintra-Trip!! The place is very cosy & a good contrast to the busy city center. Little problem here: public transport only runs till 11pm & walking back to Alfama by yourself is not all that secure. So I took a taxi everytime (~5€) which was a bit annoying. Therefore I'll probably pick their Rossio hostel next time.
