I found it good for a couple of nights before going to NZ. Close to the Central Rail Station (5 minutes walk - head out the Chalmers entrance) and Surry Hills area that has bars. Staff were helpful and organised my shuttle to airport ($12). Bathrooms were clean. A little bit expensive for what it was but I guess you get that in Australia and the hostel's location!

I don't really expect much from an inner city hostel as there is such a high turn over of people that the establishment don't really need to put in a lot of effort to attract customers, however, it really doesn't take much to make a room clean. The room I stayed in had filthy walls, the bathroom smelled like pee and there was no soap to wash your hands in the bathroom sink. The kitchen had cockroaches crawling on the bench and on the chopping boards. The staff were lovely and helpful.

It was stated that there was free airport pick up if you stayed for more than three nights but i tried calling the number a few times it was not picked up. The bunks were too small, some of the double decker beds did not have the ladder for the top deck bed, which meant that i had to try to jump up or do some stunt to get up. It is not a big inconvenience, but it will disturb the lower deck person when i wake up at night and head to the toilet because of my movement.

When we checked in we weren't told where anything was, however when checking out there was a problem with the bus we booked through the hostel ( it didn't come and the company wouldn't say how long they would be) there was a really helpful girl who recommended getting a train to the airport instead and refunded our money. I'd stay again but not use the bus service recommended.

The room was very small and nothing special. The bed was little dirty. The location was little far away from city center. Staff there were friendly and helpful however. I think that the price may be too high for its quality.

This hostel was not good. It is cheap, but it is very dirty. Stains on everything and a constant wierd smell in the room. I would recommend paying a little bit extra and stay somewhere else.
