Very nice hostel, it was really hard to find because the sign is in writing on a 2" by 2" piece of paper, but overall, our stay was great!

Clean and spacious. Staff were only to be seen when we checked in and never again (probably because we were there over a holiday weekend), so when we ran out of toilet paper there was no one to ask. Also, the directions to the place are a bit shaky. Make sure you have a map before you try to find it.

Absolutely loved this place! We were not expecting it to be as it was but were pleasantly surprised. The name of the hostel was not shown anywhere visible really, except for a doorbell that informed us to "not ring any other bell's for Alice in Wonderland" The owner of the hostel greeted us very shortly and we were very happy with the stay. We had our choice of rooms and there was a fully shocked living room with snacks, fruit, wine, tea and coffee. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

Good things: location is not so bad, 15-20 min from Vatican City. Many shops and restaurants in the neighborhood. Clean bedding, nice stuff, very helpful. Bad things: I have dwelt in room without heater, it was cold at night, because this flat is located in basement. If You want to go there not in summer, prepare yourself, a cozy pajamas can be a blessing :) There was a leaky shower, so after using it, water was also on the floor. Maybe it was fixed until today. Good place for sleeping.

The staff were very friendly and helpful here and the location is in a beautiful area close to the vatican but away from heaps of tourists. On a downside it was obvious the hostel had only been opened for a few months adn were still getting things together and parts of the hostel fixed for use. Once these problems are sorted it will be great. Only other gripe was that we could hear everything that was being said by the people in the room next to us. Can't beat the location though

We stayed here about a month ago & not much has changed. The deluxe twin room has bunks & 1 plug but was nonetheless comfortable. Improved breakfast choices, but left out all day, including the milk. The shared bathroom can get quite wet/messy & needs a decent bathmat (it didn't help that the other guests took no responsibility for keeping it tidy). Staff hours are erratic, this hostel would benefit from regular onsite reception. In time, this could be a great hostel, but it's not there yet.

It was the perfect hostel for us! The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to help us get around and find the places we wanted to stay, the rooms were very clean and nice. it was newly renovated and each room had a lock. Felt completely comfertable with leaving stuff in room and it was only like a 15 min walk to the Vatican. I would definately recommend this hostel for anyone who wants to visit Rome on a dime!

I want to thank again Elke and Maxi (the owners) for everything they did for me, us I forgot my passport at Alice, and they kept it and took the trouble to bring it to me to the airport the day of my departure, this kind of people is not easy to find!. the hostel itself it a very nice place in a quiet neighborhood, walking distance to everywhere and near to the metro station.

The hostel is a fair distance from the centre of Rome and 10-15 mins from the nearest metro. This isn't the place to party or meet lots of other people, however, it's nicely furnished, clean, comfortable & has great character. The breakfast provided is adequate. It can be difficult to check in as there's no reception or signs. The bathroom could use some extra attention. Small rubbish bins, mirrors & a towel rack in the rooms would be appreciated. Leonardo is a great host. Would recommend!

I have to agree with the review from the August the 17th 2011. We were there in September 2011. The situation was the same: “This is a really poor accommodation for the price. The beds are ok and the rooms are clean. But there are no rubbish bins in the rooms; no sockets, except one which is occupied by the light; the drain of the shower was clogged, causing a lake in the bathroom. And for breakfast: You get toast, but nothing to put on it, not even butter.” Or you do not get any toast.

The hostel is good in general, but it is a bit far from the main attractions in Rome and it takes about 10-15 minutes by foot to the nearest metro station. Rooms are clean and new and breakfast is great. The only problem is the bathroom, which was left to the guests to clean, so it was usually a bit messy and wet.

The host cares much about his guests, very nice. Room was fine, bath clean, breakfast like expected, but everything with much character. Next time in rome, we will stay there again, for sure.

This is a really poor accomodation for the price. The beds are ok and the rooms are clean. But there are no rubbish bins in the rooms; no sockets, except one which is occupied by the light; the drain of the shower was clogged, causing a lake in the bathroom. And for breakfast: You get toast, but nothing to put on it, not even butter. you get cake that is stored for two or three days in a closet together with the cleaning material! Yummie! This is just barefaced! If you can, stay somewehere else!
