So peaceful! A perfect place to stay to explore the magical Sintra. Definitly give yourself a morning to explore and enjoy the grounds at the hostel as well. Completely zen!

Almaa is lovely! This is the perfect place if you want to get away from the crowds and relax! The beds are extremely comfortable! If you have a lot of luggage, I reccomend getting a taxi from the train station, as it is a bit of a walk. I will definitely stay here again.

After Evora, Coimbra, and Lisbon, we arrived to Sinta and to this stunning hostel. I chose it because of other great reviews and its focus on eco-turism, but it far exceeded my expectations. The house itself is cool, but make sure to set aside an hour or two to walk around the property-- it is stunningly beautiful. We sadly only had one day to stay there, but would definitely have preferred 2-3 days to see the town, and take a little break to relax there in the middle of a longer trip. Fantastic

Nice place to stay, good atmosphere and very friendly staff. Away from the town but still within walking distance. Slightly pricey, but good breakfast included.

We had a really nice stay at this hostel! The owner was really friendly and helpful and gave us lots of tips on what to do and where to go. The grounds of the hostel were also very beautiful. The place was really near to one of the most beautiful castles in the area and only a 5-10 minutes walk away from the historical center.

Wonderful. If you are looking for a place where to relax and have the best sleep, this your place. Spend a couple of hours infront the chimeny, smelling and reading the old books or maybe sitting on a puff, is worty. No noise, no party, just relax and rest.

Almaa Sintra Hostel is a place out of this world. It’s in an amazing location, surrounded by a big forest where you can go for a walk or just relax – and not far from the village itself. It’s an ecological hostel, so all the furniture is recycled or reused and that together with all the structure gives the place a particularly cosy and comfy atmosphere. It’s a perfect place for a quiet holiday: it’s spacious, clean, airy. I just adored my stay there. I would definitely recommend it and go again.

bizarre ambiance. Manque flagrant d'équipement dans la cuisine. salle-de-bain décevante... les toilettes sont séparées par des rideaux... pas vraiment d'intimité pour les toilettes et douches.

I have never been in such a hostel, it is definitely one of the best I have ever seen. Breakfast is available the whole day (the bread is amazing!!) and it feels more like being in a hippie community. The hostel is situated in an old farmhouse with a huge park at the nearly end of a road and it is just amazing. Fits perfectly to Sintra and quite close to Quinta de regaleira, a spectacular park (if possible try to visit it and also the convento dos capucos on the top of the mountains)

Brilliant and unique hostel in one of the prettiest places in Portugal. Its location which is abit away (10 min walk from centre of the touristy town) further adds to the charm of this place. If you dont like conventional touristy places, almaa is definitely a must. It is like a converted mansion with many of its old charms still kept in place, while modern luxuries entertain its guests. Have i mentioned its like a cosy art museum as well. Wonderful at all times in the year.

Almaa Sintra really made my stay in Sintra complete. It was only one night but it really suits the Sintra vibe and so nice to sit and chat with other travellers infront of the fire! Excellent sleep in cosy beds and beautiful surrounds.
