This hostel was awesome. The atmosphere was great and the staff were amazing. My only complaint was that you have to walk down a long unlit dark alley to get there, so as a single female I didn't feel so safe.

The best hostel so far I have ever visited in my life. the staffs are really helpful and friendly. value for money is perfect. they have 2 bars, below and roof top. the location is only few minutes walk into Thamel area, which is the major tourist attraction. Atmosphere is just perfect, easily to mingle and chat with other travelers. for cleanliness, if compared to the whole Nepal, then it gets my 100%. Try the Himalaya101 trip, and ask "OMS" or "Raby" as your guide! it is fully recommended.

Good chilled out hostel. Nice rooftop patio. Easy to meet people. Washrooms are small and not that good. My bunkmates were very loud and made for a crappy sleep. Good overall value and I would recommend.

You get more than your money's worth. Everything is perfect except that the electric sockets in the room are not working.one needs to go to the rooftop or the reception area to charge.other than that, its entirely awesome.

Great location and helpful staff, but only one shower and two cramped toilets that lack privacy per floor. There were only two outlets in a six bed room, neither of which worked, so charging things was a bit of a problem but that is often typical in Asia. You can leave things at reception overnight to charge. There is a construction site next door and work tends to go on all hours of the day and night so you may want to rethink staying at this hostel if you are a light sleeper.

Very good place to stay in Katmandu. Very nice staff and travel agency is very helpful. Sometimes there wasn't hot water, but I think is main problem of Nepal in general. And I think if you are going to trip in Nepal be repared for that kind of inconvenience.

Great place to stay. I really enjoyed the hostel, the people of the staff and the great location in Thamel. The cleaness of the place is really good, nothing compared to the dirtiness of the city. Each day, cleanning ladies go throughout all the hostel to clean it and room what guests have left behind them the night before. So, just stay here, it's really worth it

Too few bathrooms for the number of guests. The toilets could do with being a little more private. The dorm room was like a sauna, and with only two plug sockets. Anyone can wander in and out of the hostel. Pre-booked a pick-up service from the airport which didn't materialise. I guess you can't expect much for less than £3 per night, but still.

We stayed in Alobar for our first few nights in Nepal .. It was very welcoming and perfect for the social traveller!, as it had an amazing communal rooftop terrace. However, the room we had on the last part of our journey was on the top floor (beside the terrace) and was quite noisy for us as we had to catch buses very early! All in all, it was definitely the best place to stay in Kathamndu!

This place is the best guest house in whole of KTM and the best I have stayed in so far!! The staff makes you feel so welcome, a home away from home! I stayed for 18 days and I loved it, I was sad to go! Everyone who comes to KTM will love it! 10 of 10 points to the Alobar 1000 Family!

The atmosphere is the best; chillin' at the rooftop terrace and chatting with other travelers and the incredible friendly staff. Showers are either very hot or cold and have poor pressure, but apart from that facilities are okay. Definitely value for money since you only pay 90 rupees per night and are very close, but not in the middle of, Thamel. Loved staying there!

Great hostel in the heart of Tamel, but on a quiet street away from the hustle and bustle. Super place to relax and meet other travellers, I'd love to return one day.
