Pretty good central location in Rio. Most the staff speak english which was very helpful.

A bit dull - no real common area. It's great if you just want a quiet place to keep to yourself. The staff were super knowledgeable about things to do in Rio, which was great! Cleanliness good, kitchen, beds fine. Standard.

We got locked in our room because of a faulty lock, and the first thing the moment we got released the office staff did is try not only to charge us for the lock, but also move us from a private room into a dorm room without even giving us any discount. Thankfully the only sane person there is the cleaning lady which had enough culture and reason to offer us another private room. And if you argue that the hostel is booked and we're the only couple stayin there. Please stop. You just look stupid.

There was no smoke alarm in our room and the kitchen was right underneath us.

The room that we stayed (on the 2nd floor) is for 6 bunk beds. The room is too small for 6 beds, the aircond doesn't work. There is a stench of urine on the mattress. We lost a few small items such as toothpaste, body shampoo which we put under the bed. There are lockers provided but it looks so flimsy.....we never thought anybody would want to take someone else toiletries...
