Shower is veeery good with warm water, good pressure and very clean. Rooms are comfortable as well. Hostel is a 10 minutes walk from the center which is not far at all. Kitchen is good and clean as well.

gold stuff, very clean but small rooms with small windows. the street in front of the house is pretty loud.

Nice staff, great shower, wifi was ok. Setup of the building meant it could be a bit noisy at night when the tv was on. 20 minutes from the old town but right across the street from the best museum in town.

The set up of this hostel is like that of a California house. We loved this place. Great chill spots on the roof and a nice balcony spot. It's not in the old town part but only a 10 minute walk.

Real hot water showers with amazing water pressure(!!!), it's clean, $5 for laundry, there's a nice kitchen, the wifi is ok, towels, helpful staff and the location is good. Our first three nights were super quiet but on the fourth night, a group of Aussies had a party in the kitchen and kept everyone awake until 3am. Hopefully that's not normal though.

Really friendly staff, comfy beds and great kitchen. Only complaint is that the hot water was a little unreliable during our stay.

I enjoyed very much my stay there. They have the best kitchen among the hostels I stayed at this trip. So, If you want to cook and have a good "home-made" food, that´s the place to stay.

This is the nicest hostel in Cuenca, great and cosy atmosphere, nice staff, very clean, very personal, and cheap too!

Brilliant place! The best place I have ever stayed. Much better than the most of the hostels in South America and Europe. Well done guys!!!

The alternative is a great little hostel, very clean and generally quiet and relaxing, not too far (15 min) from town centre and supermarket. Good coffee and a well equiped kitchen. Our room was above the kitchen which meant being regularly disturbed, so I´d receommend avoiding those rooms. Also, one night a member of staff had his friends over on the balcony, I don´t have a problem with that but he kept the door open to be able to hear the bell and the smell of smoke got into our room,

Great hostel, really cool staff. It's a bit out of town but a safe walk if your in a pair, taxis are cheap though. Shared bathrooms are clean, rooms a comfy. The kitchen is clean and well equipped, with free coffee!

Hostel has ECHO problem... Sound carries everywhere and tends to be loud sometimes. Staff could be more friendly and add value to guest experience. Location is near Bank and Museum with Puma Pango ruins site. Some walking to other areas take time. Over all Alternative is Clean, Safe and Good Value.

This hostel is very nice and bright. The rooms are big, comfortable and they actually had a rack on the wall to hang stuff. Bathrooms were really nice and always lots of hot water. The atomsphere at the hostel over christmas was really fun. Loved the all day coffee.

The place is very bright, very clean and has a good kitchen. Everything was always clean and the staff are knowledgeable. Our room was basic, but had everything we needed. The location is slightly outside the old town, but right across the road from Ecuadors best museum and the ruins. Town is only a 15-20 minute walk away and you can walk via the riverfront and there's loads of restaurants and a few bars on the way.

Great facilities at the hostel. Nice rooms and showers. All very clean. The staff were helpful and polite....

Light and airy with lots of sun, comfortable feel and laid back approach by the staff. They are happy to help but you have to ask them. Would be good to have a board with recommended activities and information in the hostel eg how to get to cajas. There are also ruins just across the road behind the museum, which are both very interesting, but no information about this, we found it by chance. Recommended! Coffee is nice and strong, wifi works everywhere and the showers are hot
