The hostel was ok and staff kind, but cleanliness, specially in toilets, was completely absent.

This has been the most filthy and weird place I have ever stayed while travelling through Asia. Don`t stay here. The rooms are dark, disgustinghly unclean. I hardly spen any time there to avoid to ruin my trip.

was a good location to get to the fort, but a little out the way of everything else. There's a few shops selling water and crisps in the area but not much else- no restuarants. However the food was excellant from the hotel restuarent. They wouldnt look after my bag once i had checked out, before I caught a night train- "if it doesnt make me money, why should i do it" A little harsh I thought.

The owner charged extortionate prices for laundry and beers which he is not licensed to sell. Then he tried to add 12.5% service charge on top of everything. Dead flies on the bed and layers of dust on everything in the room. Filthy.

WHat a pleasure to stay in a place such as this. I can speak highly of this place because I had a fantastic time. Its family oriented with a picture perfect view of the ancient city. The location is in the quiet part of the city and the facilities are great. I will be back and would recommend this place to anyone. If you get a chance, talk to the owners, they are both well educated and love to speak about the happenings in the world.

I had high hopes for Amar Niwas GH after reading reviews and the score. However my experience echoes an earlier negative review. Getting money from tourists appears to be the main aim here. Tax is added to everything, which isn't a massive issue, but other places manage to include it, and at cheaper prices. A pickup/drop off will cost you Rs400 each way, where an Auto will charge Rs100. You will hear negative stories of local restaurants and transport, all geared to keeping you in house to spend

Hello Dear stephen, unfortunately you fell disappointed here, 1-you mention About Taxes, we don't understand why people unhappy to pay tax here when its already mentioned every where in website & webpages. its not hidden price. 2-hay ,you forget to mention that" How you spend all your time for a social service" do you remember for how many guest you allow to keep there bags in your room (in 4 days stay for three guest from different rooms) and that when you read that we have luggage room ,half day room service and also small rooms for 10 to 11 hour stay . dear we be leave that you can understand when a guest will stay 10 to12 hours in your premises they will use light ,water, bathrooms etc. that time how will wear all these expenses for them . we be-leave that you can understand the different between a public transport (auto)and personal car and day and night services when you didn't find any auto-driver ready at 4 o'clock, you willingly choose our service after knowing about price. we feel that your experience turns negative because you try every thing. which was not ignorable.

Located right next to the fort in a nice area. Rooms are small but cosy. The two bathrooms I saw were pretty bad, very small and almost no water pressure. The owners are nice and happy to help. The food is of great quality and reasonably priced. All up a pleasant stay

The top rating in Jodhpur makes sense. Located at the foot of the majestic Mehrangarh fort in the old city, most friendly and helpful hosts, good facilities and a homely touch, all in all very good value for money. Highly recommended !

Lovely place! The family that runs the guesthouse is super sweet! Rooms are cosy and food is delicious. Location is really good, it's a 10min drive from the train stn and a short walk away from the fort. The area is calm and quiet. The absolute best thing is the amazing roof top! It's in three levels so you'll get privacy if you want it and the view is spectacular. Sitting on the roof top, looking at the beautiful sunset, listening to singing from the minarets and admiring the blue view... Ah!

Very friendly guesthouse. The owner was very welcoming and eager to help us enjoy our stay as much as possible. The rooms were basic but clean. The views from the rooftop restaurant and the food were excellent. The guesthouse had a lot of character and was situated in a great location. It was not a polished gleaming hotel experience but this added to it's charm and it was very reasonably priced.

Very nice guesthouse, located in the smartest area of Jodhpur. 5 mins walk to the clock tower and even less to the fort. The staff is composed by a friendly family, very helpful when you need help. The restaurant on the rooftop is also beautiful and has a great view on the fort

The owner and his wife are very welcome. It's an old house has over 500 years history, so one couldn't be too strict to the facilities. The movie Darjeeling limited also took place here which is amazing. The policy of rent a small room to leave your luggage is annoying.

More a homestay than a hostel - we loved it! You really feel like part of the family. The owners are lovely. I`m so grateful for the emotional support they gave me with a personal issue that coincided with my stay. The rooms are simple and typical for India for this price. Some reviwers seem surprised about add-ons like laundry and internet. Remember you are paying pennies for a room and as a family business they are obviously going to want to try and make extra money - Reasonable I think!

The balance due on the booking is a base price, does not include 12.5% tax, wifi, toilet paper or breakfast. There are strict rules:arrive before 10am you must pay an extra night. wont hold bags for more than 2hrs unless you rent a room for an extra night. The rooms were dirty and the small rooms(half the price) are better than the ensuite. Didn't appreciate the owner's derogatory stories about other guests (even within their hearing). The location, Nina's food and the view from the roof r great.

dear jennifer thanks for writing this review for us so with our reply we can convey our message to those who don't like to read "terms and conditions" of hotel and" things to note" . on our web page every thing is mentioned very clearly if you would have read all this before we belief you won't write this . we would like to remind you that regarding early check-in matter we already send you 2 mails one with our regular welcome mail and second when you write about your arrival time( 4 o'clock in the early morning) we write about extra payment for mid- night check in. dear can we ask you"why should we provide you wifi, toilet paper or breakfast for FREE" so next time when you book an accommodation "please read about their terms and conditions thank you

Sunny and its family were very nice and very attentive. What defines a guesthouse. Traveling alone, it was really good to actually feel the family warmth, good meals in the restaurant, really good. Location is perfect because it is quiet and walking distance to the fort and Rao Jodha park. Facilities were normal to Indian standarts, no complaints. Just staying in the rooftop looking the fort and the city eating good food is a pleasure. Keep the good work Sunny.
