Amber Hostel is a rather cheap but well working hostel in a low income area of Cartagena. Good possibilities to buy cheap an rather good food in th near by streets. Felt safe in and out og hostel. /Kjeld from Denmark

The rooms are clean and air conditioned but if you are looking for a hostel with character, this is not it unfortunately. The kitchen and bathroom facilities are also a little bit lacking and the wifi only worked sporadically. What passes for a communal area is in the middle of rooms so if you want to sleep it can be very difficult.

It was ok, but very overpriced for what it was, though many hostels cost more at this time of year.

Familiar hostel, close to the city center, and with cheap restaurants around.

Decent enough for the price. The street it's on is not great but it's only a 2 min walk to some very good, cheap restaurants. We stayed in a private room with ensuite bathroom. It was pretty cramped but had good a/c & about what we expected. The real drawback was the ensuite bathroom. It had no toilet seat and the shower head was more like a tap. I've seen this before in other hostels but I would really suggest you guys invest in toilet seats & proper shower heads. PS Jean-Pierre is a legend!
