Amber Lagoon offers beautiful views and quaint cottages to stay in as well as a pool and morning crepes at a cheap cost. It lies at the end of a 7km unpaved road 20 min out of Oudtshoorn, which can be a little much, but by the third time, I barely even noticed it. The hosts are friendly and very willing to help out and don't even laugh at you if you can't figure out how to light the oven. There are places and materials to braii, a pool/poolhouse, and did I mention the gorgeous 360 views?

Dripping with quirk! Middle of nowhere down a dirt road way outside of Oudtshoorn, but we had an excellent time. Owners are tons of fun and excellent chefs. A tour of the neighbor's ostrich farm is a great addition. This was the quirkiest, and possibly most fun stay we had in ZA. Highly recommend.
