It was the perfect place for us Close to everything without being too close. Safe neighborhood with everything in walking distance...shops, restaurants, bars, laundry, parking,... Thanks to Stephen and Wayne for plenty of help to plan our trips in the surroundings. Really nice people at a really nice place. We'll be back next time we're in Cape Town!

I love Amber Tree! My stay was three days over Christmas and it couldn't have been better. The location is perfect, as it's not in a 24 hour party area like Long Street, but it's close enough to the city and Table Mountain to put both within easy walking distance. The hostel itself is laid out very intelligently and the staff are second to none. Highly recommended.

This hostel is very clean and all the facilities look very new. The atmosphere is relaxed and you can get in contact with others very easily. There are two computers and free wifi. The location is on walking distance to Long street as well as a bakery and supermarket. The staff is very friendly and helpfull. I wish I had more time to stay in Cape Town!

Far away from the center. Toilet flush didn't work. Made a booking 7 months in advance (!) plus got back to them 3 weeks before arrival (they confirmed our booking), but still they did not have our booking when we arrived!

One of the nest hostels I have been in, and I have been in a few - amazingly comfortable beds, nice big clean showers with amazing water pressure and filtered coffee in the morning! I honestly couldn't make a complaint and happily stay there again!

We stayed there for a week in Cape Town in the 6bed dorm, very clean and very comfy beds, also very good the huge lockers. Wayne gave us a little tour around the hostel, everything is very clean.the cleaner comes every day, also the kitchen is not a normal hostel kitchen it is sooooo clean and you can find everything you need including always cold drinking water in the big fridge. The bathroom is big and spotless, the lounge with tv,PC,free internet, wifi, outside area is great!! A Home from Home!

Very nice hostel, superconductor beds, nice common area, all spotless clean. I liked the location as well with lots of smallrestaurants and pubs around, yet bit further (still walking distance) from the noisy long street.

One of the best hostels I've stayed. Extremly well organized/managed hostel. Very clean everywhere. Good view of Table Mountain from balcony. Many stores/restaurants nearby. Walking distance to the city centre. Tight security. 24/7, someone is there and no problem leaving 4 a.m. I love Cape Town more because Amber Tree is so good. They know how to treat the guests, like good friends.

The lodge is in the perfect location, right around the corner from busy Kloof St and has a grocery store/ atm, restaurants and bars nearby. The staff was terrific, super attentive and informative. The beds are comfy and the bathroom is always spotless. I would definitely come back when I visit Cape Town again.
