The best accommodation we stayed during our vacation in South Africa. The hostel was spotless and beautifully decorated. Steven and Hank could not do enough for us and it felt like leaving a friend's home - we had such a good time.

Amber Tree was a beautiful and convenient place to stay in Cape Town. Close to public transit on a nice quiet side street near to groceries, restaurants and shops. The hostel was comfortable and felt like home. Steven is the coolest guy I've ever met and provides a warm welcoming environment & is very knowledgeable in everything that a traveler/tourist should experience while in CT. The outstanding views of Table Mountain from the upstairs balcony in the morning are priceless.

Steve and Wayne were the most helpful and wonderful hosts we have ever had in all of our hostel stays across the world. They are willing to do whatever it takes to make your stay in Cape Town as enjoyable as possible. Between the restaurant suggestions (free bottle of wine!), procuring honest taxi drivers, and their overall positive attitudes, you would be a fool to pass up Amber Tree in an effort to save a few bucks. Tons of books, leisure space, and nice natural looking views make it home
