This is a very homey and comfortable hostel. I would have no hesitation to stay here again. The only problem I had was that the rooms were very hot and stuffy. Air conditioning has been disconnected and the ceiling fans were not adequate to keep the air moving. I would like to see fans in the rooms by the beds.

We loved our stay at Amber Tree Lodge! The lodge was beautiful, the rooms were comfortable, and the location was perfect. Thank you!

Nice and comfortable place to stay. Only negative is the top bunk beds doesn't have charging ports.

Small dorms, but in cape town its a rule, breakfast included, coffe better then usual instant:)

Very lovely location that is highly recommended. It is in a great location and next time I surely will go to this place again!

Very nice place. If you are looking for peace and quiet this place is for you.

superb. in every respect

Very helpful staff, great kitchen, indoor and outdoor space to hang out. Close to bars, restaurants, public transportation, and certain attractions.

The amber tree lodge is a good, nice and relax place to stay. The staff is very kind and will give you all the info you need. There is nothing wrong to say about this place, it's all positive. The hostel is not a party hostel, but good to meet people and go out. It's very close to everything you might need. Highly recommended place in Cape town!

Maybe the best hostel I've stayed in in a long time. Good location, helpfull staff and great facilities.

Nice breakfast, friendly people working, nice views to Table Mountain on the balcony. I wish a bit more pressure in the shower.. Loved the European plugs. In my opinion the best hostel in Cape Town, too bad fully booked when I returned.

Loved my stay here. Small, and fairly quiet. Excellent lounge area for a good number of people to sit. Well stocked kitchen, and there are a couple of grocery stores within walking distance. Wayne and Bruce are super helpful. The only thing that could have been improved was if the hand towels in the bathroom were changed more frequently. Would happily stay there again if I'm in town.

It's not a party hostel. Very quiet and comfortable place, good for rest a little during the trip. Excelent location, near very nice bars and restaurants.

Very good hostel! The personal is very kind and helpful. The location is perfect (1minute walking from longstreet (lots of shops, pubs, clubs) and the city bowl). The breakfast is brilliant and the building perfect : very clean, confortable and a terrasse vith a view on table mountain. I highly recommend. (the only thing : only 3 cars can park inside the car park)

Walking distance to Long Street, but much quieter than staying directly in Long Street. Dorms as well as kitchen and other common rooms were very clean. Friendly staff and especially nice fellow travellers!

Amber Tree is one of the best hostels I've ever stayed at. They have a nice relaxed atmosphere which makes you feel at home right away. Everything is very clean, and the beds are great. Right out the front door, you have a view of Table Mountain, and it's just a couple minutes walk from Long Street. The staff are super friendly and willing to help you with anything you might need. I would highly recommend staying here, and will stay here again if I'm lucky enough to go back to Cape Town.

Amber Tree Lodge is a really nice and comfortable place, with a very kind staff We felt at home from the first moment. The free breakfast is tasty and the kitchen is well equipped to prepare your own meal. But there are also a lot of restaurants nearby. Although the lodge is situated in a quiet street, plenty of places are within walking distance. So, highly recommended!
