There are a lot of board game in the common area, which is geat.
However, the hostel will be closed between 12:30 and 16:30, and you can\'t go in your room, nor the kitchen and dinning room. People there are nice. There are not much sockets, so it is better for you to take the extension cord. It is not difficult to get to the hostel, but don;t expected to be very close to the bus stop. It take about 7 mins for walking up the old lake road. Afterall, it just cost £17 pppn.There are a lot of board game in the common area, which is geat.

Ambleside is a beautiful place to explore the region from. The manager was really helpful with advice and the \'simple\' breakfast was a lot better than a lot of hostels offer. Kitchen was supporsed to be opened till 10:30 in the morning but it was closed before 10:00, and closed completely over night between 22:00 and 7:30. This is a very nice and cosy hostel. It feels more like a home than a hostel. The location is great - close to all the things you need in Ambleside, but away from the main street.
The only negative point I can think of is the 10:30 - 12:30 lock out policy. Basically, you have to be out of your room and out of the hostel by 10:30 am so they can clean it, and the owner is a little inflexible about this. However, he is very helpful otherwise. One staff told me that after I checked off. I only could put my stuff in a room. I also could not pass over the room that I put my stuff,I could not go to toilet or used other service as well.
I feel this is not a friendly way to treat the customers.
