The hostel is really good! The staff explained to us everything that we can do in the city, helped us to go all the place that we would like to visit. The internet is amazing, the room is really nice with bathrooms, and the breakfast is really nice, one of the best that i got in hostels in my life.

Superb. Deserves each one of its positive reviews. Great location about ten minutes walk from the centre. kitchen is small but well equipped. Staff are extremely friendly, well informed and not pushy when it comes to arranging tours. Dorms are warm, clean and each bunk has an individual light. Brilliant hostel.

A very nice hostel with good facilities. Floor heating is very nice, spacious reception/breakfast/lounge area, breakfast is nice, showers hot, kitchen is okay, atmosphere very good, personnel friendly and helpful, and everything in El Calafate is nearby. All excursiones are pretty expensive, but I knew this before arriving to Patagonia.

Matteus is the man. He helped me from the first minute I arrived and ensured that I had a great stay. Thank you Matteus and rest of the staff.

Great hostel. Amazing views, helpful staff (with great taste in music...), clean rooms and bathrooms, great shared spaces and great options for breakfast. After a long day of walking through the snow, the heated floors are another major benefit.

Everything very good

Overall a great hostel. Private washrooms/showers in dorms are great and a nice common area. Clean place, with a solid breakfast and kitchen. Staff are helpful and wifi works well.

The hostel is just on the edge of the town. Facilities generally good, common area was great and room was ensuite and very clean. Unfortunately the kitchen was much too small and it was very stressful to try and cook there amongst 10 other people in a room the size of a cupboard! The staff were amazing, they could not have been more helpful in arranging excursions and giving advice!

We had a great hostel experience at America del Sur. Having clean bathrooms in our 4 person room was great. The staff was generally nice about helping us when our plans fell through, although a few seemed a bit irritated by having to help guests.

A great stay! We were so happy there we added extra nights. The hostel is comfortable and characterful with a good atmosphere. The underfloor heating was a great bonus on the cold days! Staff speak English and are very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, they helped us plan our whole trip. The hostel is in a great location, a 5 minute walk from the main town! It is quiet regarding noise form outside but sociable nontheless and rooms are well located so unaffected by noise inside. I recommend!

Great hostel, nice kitchen, spacious rooms. Good atmosphere. Helpful staff.

Genuinely lovely hostel with friendly staff and clean bedrooms. A little out of the way but the views are worth it. The kitchen was ridiculously small for the size of the hostel, however, making cooking on an evening a somehwat nightmarish experience. The choice of (loud) "atmosphere" music was also rather suspect at times... I´ve now heard enough earpiercing accordian music to last me a lifetime and still hear it when I shut my eyes at night hundreds of kilometres away. Scarred.

America deal Sur has great views and a good sized communal area for breakfast and relaxing. However we didn't have a good experience. The lockers in the rooms are broken and easily opened even with a lock on. The bathroom door was broken so we couldn't open or shut it which was awkward sharing the room with strangers. We heard the breakfast was amazing but we didn't think it was anything special, just bread and cereal which is standard for hostels in this area. We also found flies everywhere.

Plus Points: Great location for visiting the glacier or undertaking any hikes in the nearby area / Good communal area which encourages socialising / Stunning views / Staff were very knowledgeable about hiking in the area. Bad Points: Letting the wild dogs sleep on the couch in the communal areas / communal kitchen too small for the number of guests - top tip, cook early to avoid the rush! / Staff that think it's cool to stream rock music at 6am / Indifferent reception staff

Cheers to the crew at this hostel, awesome bunch of people! Hostel not to far from the centre easy walking distance. Would definitely stay again.

A great atmosphere and the staff is very helpful. Nice to get a welcome email with information after booking. Good breakfast with lovely view. Good beds, and great to have a bathroom with each room.

Good organised hostel, clean with god facilities. But it is leaning towards a large business oriented place, so not a cosy personal place to stay. And a bit of a walk up the hill from the main street, but it has an amazing view. Stayed in a dorm and the double room, highly recommend the one in the seperate building.

really relaxed hostel and helpful staff who'll sort everything out for you during your stay. booked one night here and ended up returning between buses from el chalten to puerto natales.

Rooms are clean but kitchen is disgusting--clogged drains with water that looks like it has been sitting there for days. The hostel common room is comfortable with a good view and the staff (generally) seemed happy to answer (most) questions. The breakfast also is better than most hostels I've been to. But, on the expensive side--but so are the other options in town.

Great stay here. Loved the variety at breakfast!
