Really nice place, small and cosy. Breakfast is included which is nice especially because you meet other hosts from the hostel. Great location near union square and madison garden. I booked a single room and finally got 2 beds.

The only place this hostel lacked was Atmosphere, for some reason no one seemed to be very social, maybe because it's a bit smaller. However this may be a positive because it also made it very quiet if that's what your looking for. The man who checked me in was really good but I didn't have much to do with any other staff and the common area / kitchen and bathrooms were always clean in my opinion. It's not right in the thick of things but the subway 1 block away seems great and safe. Thank you

It is a very good hostel, we had such a great time there. The staff was friendly and the dorms and bathrooms where very clean. The most amazings feature of this hostel is the kitchen: you can find a bunch of things to eat during breakfast and get together with other guests. It is very quiet for people who is looking for a place to rest.

Great location. Great staff. Rafael from Peru and the cleaning staff from Mexico were friendly and very efficient. They even gave me Spanish classes!! The place is kept very clean. The staff were always helpful with enquiries and very knowledgable about New York. The breakfast was excellent. Fruit salad, cereals, eggs, toast cheese Waffles and every jam, marmalade, peanut butter you could wish for, different jiuces, tea, coffee etc. Thanks a million, Muchas Gracias!

Stayed there for 2 nights in April 2013. Had a very nice timer, good breakfast, got the occasion to talk to a few fellow travelers. Nice atmosphere and quite quiet which is nice after an entire day running around museums and shops. Would recommend this place.

Great location, and very clean. Also great security! Only problem were rather small rooms, but for this price in NYC no miracle. Would definitely stay there again and recommend to anyone!

I really liked this place. It was easy to get to (shuttle bus from JFK to Grand Central, 3 train to 23rd Street, short walk to hostel) and easy to find. I was in a four-bed female dorm and it was clean and comfortable. The staff were great. It's not a party kind of hostel but the other travellers were very friendly. I would have stayed longer if I could have.

I had a very pleasant stay in a familiar environment. Despite having many problems with the internet, it's a good value of money.

Hello! We stayed in American Dream Hostel in early April and really enjoyed your trip. Friendly staff and many other nice guests meet in a clean, secure and good connected hostel! When we comme back to NY, we would definetely book this hostel again! Greetings from Germany and Austria

This was my second stay at American Dream and it remains my favorite hostel. It is clean, comfortable, and conveniently located. The other guests are always friendly and interesting and fortunately (for me) this place isn't a "party hostel". Travelers stay here and chat and hang out. The included breakfast is substantial. Staff are friendly. The female dorm room is bright, spacious, and very clean.

Nice and clean hostel, they have breakfast: bread, jam, nutella, cereal, cake, fruit, waffles, juice, coffee, water. Big fridge where you can store your own food and drinks.

Very friendly & welcoming, exceptionally clean at all times. We met people of all ages from all over the world. Thank-you to Lou & all the staff hope to see you again!

Great hostel, nicely decorated. Great kitchen, provides breakfast food and drinks. The room was a bit small but very clean. Best hostel I've stayed in.

Our stay was quite good. The hostel is nice and clean and ok kitchen. Don't expect to sleep any longer than around 9-10 if you have a late night, you will either be woken up by the radiators or the vacuumcleaning in the hallway. Apart from that I nice place :)

I stayed there in winter but the pipe line passed in my room, that was really hot and noicy (woke up 4 time at night) but this place is really clean, the breakfast is good.

Very nice place in a good location, very clean, good facilities. Overall we were very happy to have stayed there and would recommend it to others. The wifi didn't really work upstairs, the bed was too small even for small people and the breakfast could use some savoury items - but these are only minor complaints.

Great for the price!!
