I had a great time in NY and having this place with the great staff made it even more enjoyable. The central location made transport very easy. the room was clean and tidy and overall a great place to stay. Thanks

Had a thoroughly good time there. Good vibe, met interesting people and loved the atmosphere. The only thing I would change is that our room was kept at nearly unbearably hot temperatures. Such a waste of energy.

My stay at this hostel was quite enjoyable. The rooms are a little small, but you're not coming here to stay in the room the whole time. The location of the hostel was in a nice area of town, and not too far from the subway station. I felt safe walking around the area late at night. The staff was very friendly, and extremely helpful when I forgot my ipod charger in the room after I left. They mailed it back to me, though it did take a couple weeks before they did so. I would def stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay at the American Dream Hostel. The rooms were clean and well-heated, bathrooms were spotless. The owner was also very friendly and the breakfast was great! The location of the hostel is fantastic - a short walk to the subways and the neighbourhood itself is full of great bars and restaurants. Will definitely recommend this place to friends.

Fine B&B with good breakfast. The only bad thing was the loud heating in the rooms, it was really very loud. Unfortunately no communication room except breakfast room.

This was a good hostel, but staff should be more polite. The black guy at frontdesk was kinda rude.

The rooms were very clean and cozy, and though bathrooms were separate, each room has its own sink and mirror which was great. A small television, too. Breakfast was good, waffles, toast, cereal and fruit.

Brilliant location in the heart of Manhattern. Easy assess to every attraction and subway. Clean and friendly, definitely worth a stay if you're sightseeing all day and just want a warm bed to sleep.

I stayed here for five days before moving to a hostel with a more party atmosphere and younger crowd. This hostel doubles as a bed and breakfast so expect a lot of older couples and families. This is a great hostel if you want a few quiet nights to ensure you see all the sights during the day.

Friendly, responsive, accommodating staff. Sink & TV in clean private room(#17)a plus. A staff member helped me carry luggage to my room & then vanished (as opposed to standing with her hand out for tip after) Good breakfast--unlimited coffee, waffles, eggs, cereal. Room was nice and warm in December winter. Availability of computers in lounge another plus. Fellow guests(from S.America, Europe, Asia) were friendly. Near subway/bus to all points;short walk to Empire State Bldg. Will stay here again

American Dream Hostel is a nice place. But the price a little bit high for a student who is budgeting to travel around the USA.
