It was too cold and they refused to switch on the heating system! the bathrooms either were out of order or had doors with no locks!!! The things they sold were expensive! The wi-fi only worked in the so called lobby! not in the rooms!!!!

Good team staff, it is very helpfull. Very cheap hostel, good location. Clean hostel. Rooms of 8 persons are a bit noisy, wich is normal I think. Here you can also easily meet others people to go out with. Good Hostel!

Really great hostel, the staff there is friendly, good atmosphere, good facilities, good cleanliness, good location! The only thing that wasn`t ok was the wifi signal in the dorms. But no doubt I would come back to this hostel.

it's ok, but a bit far from the centre and it lacks common spaces where meet other travellers...

Our stay at Amigo Hostel was short and a nice one! Staff was highly friendly, they helped us carrying our luggages and provided all the information we needed. After staying at a farm for a week we were not the best to judge but rooms were really nice, comfy and clean. The only problem/suggestion is that it'd be nice if we knew about all the long and steep staircases, then we could've thought twice before going there with 20-30 kg luggages each! But still, we'll remember our stay with a big smile

This place is very near to the tram stop. 20 sec walk. Rooms were very neat n clean. Silent atmosphere. We do get offer tickets to various places like madame tussauds n boat cruise. Van gogh meuseum is the landmark. That was really a pleasant stay there.

Good location, friendly staff, easy to navigate nearby transport and easy to find places nearby; Amigos hostel is brilliant. Despite its towering staircases which appear to be typical of Amsterdam, the hostel is friendly and charming and the staff are brilliant, with a wealth of knowledge that when asked, are more than happy to tell you the best places to drink and eat.

The staff crew is really nice, the location of this hostel is not great for a city trip, the hostel itself is a little sketchy/dirty. Definately a great value for Amsterdam though, and if you can figure out public transportation, this place might be right for you.

I am very disapointed about Amigo Hostel. When we came there the staff informe us that our reservation was canceled. They didn't apologize for that and act very carelessly. They didn't even sent us mail to informe us about cancelation. They try to put half of booking value from our Visa before visit and because there was not enough money they simply cancel it. I didn't experience such thing before, but I travel a lot. Why was then 10% prepayment requested if they try to get 50% befor our arrival

One of the worst hostels I have stayed in over my 3 months of travelling. For the money that I paid, on the nights that we not Queen's night / day, I feel ripped off and shorthanded. There are too many doors, the toilets are so ridiculously small that you can't sit down without your knees scrapping the door, there showers aren't even useable and there's a major lack in security throughout the whole hostel. The location is quite nice and the staff were lovely...if you didn't cause a fuss. Not happy

Value for Money is really poor. The Hostel is far from the centre and not well maintained (I had a broken window fixed with a cardboard panel). Rooms are ultra-small. This Hostel would be acceptable only for cheaper prices.

..We were not expecting the super steep stairs when we arrived at the hostel..! But the staff were friendly and made up for it. However, it would have been nice if we could have been closer to the ground floor for ease of moving lots of heavy luggage... But at what we paid for the room, we did not complain! It was a good stay, all in all. :)

Hi Amigo, that was worst place we have ever stayed. Instead of 2 twin rooms witch was booked (for our 4 person company) one - 8 person room was given with promise that it will be just for us. In middle of night other 4 guys appeared, who left, after waking us up for some "night business" and come back in few hours, by spoiling our night completely. It was our first stay in Amsterdam so we can't compare with other places there, and maybe that's part of adventure, city offers? Thanks

The best staff I've ever seen. Kaza will go so far out of his way to help you with anything you need.

The Amigo hostel was a good experience. Location is ideal with a 24 hour bus running to the city center (for the party crowd). Caza who is the co-owner speaks 6 languages is extremely helpful with tips around the city, offered a discount to a couple who couldn't afford the room at regular price, was patient with a drunken fool who pulled a fire alarm and even stored stuff in the staff fridge. Best hostel staff in my experience with Caza, Sultaan is Still nice but Not as patient or helpful.

Amigo is a fantastic hostel to stay at. 10 minute tram from the city and the buses go all night. My friend and I had a blast there. It's a great place to meet people and we even partied with the staff when their shift was over! The place is clean but in an old building so its a little beaten up but the bathrooms are brand new. Watch the steps leading up to it though there steep! It wasn't the physically nicest place I have ever stayed in but it was the best simply because of the people and staff

People are smoking around the stair despite notices of 'fine of smoking' everywhere in the premise. The main stair is dirty with spilled beer and spit. The staff is unhelpful. Problem can be solved only by the 'manager'. The wifi can only be accessed at the crowded reception area. Toilet is too small even to turn the body around. The water from the bathroom will flow out onto the corridor. Charging of the authorized credit card is unnecessary when customer pays everything in cash on arrival.

A very clean, secure and sizable hostel. Staff were always helpful when I spoke to them and it felt like a lovely place to be.
