Toilet = Shower No hooks or closets for stuff. Just a bed, table and a chair in the matrimonial room. Plus: cheap and location is ok
Amigo hostel was good enough to bring us back after a journey to La Huigera. THe lady on reception is one of the nicest people I have ever met an was very willing to put up with the miriad of questions we had about various things. The wifi is great and you´re only a couple of blocks away from the main plaza. We found it a great place to chill and spend some time slowly exploring the city, the beds are very comfortable and the rooms very clean. Thoroughly enjoyable stay!

Amigo Hostel is a great budget option for Sucre. Its very central and so you can walk around the town easily. The breakfast is your usual bread and eggs and there is a kitchen that you can cook in (although there are very limited utensils - no knives! - and the fridge is behind reception which is a bit odd. There are quite a few communal areas but when we stayed there weren't many other backpackers around.
Location was good, 5 mins to main square. Kitchen wasn't very well equipped, no knives to eat with and the fridge wasn't in the kitchen, but behind reception.. Hostel was cold at night. Staff weren't particularly helpful. Breakfast was probably the worst I've had in South America so far. Internet was poor. Something was broken in every bathroom. It was fine, but there are much better hostels in Sucre for the same price.
Breakfast is very good, includes bread, butter and jam, eggs, juice, cereals and tea or coffee. they serve as you get there, so culd be waiting for a while if the hostel is busy. Wifi sometimes does ot work that well and best signal is at reception, none in rooms or common areas a t the back. Lots of places so sit around and talk to people.
internet sux! poor breakfast, but it´s a good location.and NO hot showers in our room (double) and the hostal is a maze :)
Really nice property, however it seems that the owner of the hostel stopped to care about the hostel. There are a bunch of little things which need to be taken care of (leaking water pipes, unusable kitchen, doors which can't be closed). This hostel has potential, but the owner need to take action soon !
Positive: reasonably priced rooms, comfortable beds. Breakfast is included. Location is good - just 2 blocks from main square and close to bars, restaurants, etc. Staff were helpful when needed. Negative: toilets could have been cleaner and had no toilet paper. Showers didn't work properly. The kitchen was locked from 6.30pm until 11am everyday and even then there was no proper fridge in which to store perishables. Internet connection was painfully slow at times.
Great hostel heaps of room to sit around, on one evening it was very noisy til 2am. But enjoyed staying here. Bring your own toilet paper, pretty standard in Bolivia.
thi hostel is in a good part of the city near the centre and the staff were quite helpfulk. Bu the kitchen is very basic and the whole please feels like it is underconstruction. It have half finished frooms and pieces of timber all over. I don't know what the other hostels in town are like but I would recommend one of them instead of this place.
Amigo's is not a very nice hostel. Half the hostel is under construction that will never be completed. Staff were'nt friendly and breakfast really simple and stale
Booked a night here for christmas night as much else was booked up. Ended up staying somewhere else after talking with some friends, who had stayed here for a night. The place is big, with small patios on the different floors, but seemed very worn and without atmosphere. The staff was rather unfriendly, so it was not a place you wanted to stay for christmas.
The place is a dump, and the guys at the front desk are incredibly cavalier and unhelpful.
...low price which is nice but really not a great place to stay. strange staff, very noisy in the morning from 7am when they`re preparing the breakfast (semi-hot coffee, dry bread and a tiny bit of marmelade). I`m sure there are much better places to stay!

We stayed here as a group of 9. We now refer to it as hostel no-amigo! All so sad, as it could be awesome. The place needs to be totally renovated - it is a dump. Also the staff need to stop watching TV all the time and actually want to help you. Although their time would actually be better spent cleaning the hostel - which clearly was not done very much. This place will not survive without changes! Hostel Amigo please listen. I only want to help! :-)
Staff were seriously rude to everyone. It was raining inside when we arrived even though it was dry outside. they said there were hot showers...meaning there was 1 hot shower which was temperamental. it was dirty, cold and smaelled bad

They have to get to know what cuostomer service is. There where NON. The breakfast whas awfull. The Rooms was dirty. The kitchen was dirty and had few things. Our fellow room mate saw a RAT! We dident expect so mucth at all before we came, but omg what a discusting place. For your own sake, find something better... -Maria
Without a doubt, the worst place I stayed at in two and a half months of traveling through South America. Well, where to begin. Terrible, uncaring staff, filthy all over (my private rooms and the bathrooms were a disgrace), infested with rats, marijuana growing in the backyard plants (actually this could be a plus), not to mention an incident where four guests had cash stolen from their rooms. They are not your Amigos; they are your worst enemies. Stay instead at Forastero Guest House.
