It was a terrible experience. Extremely rude and snob staff. Old/Dirty rooms. I booked a 4 people room but there was an additional bed where 2 people slept together, so we were 6 and it was always so noisy i couldnt even sleep properly. When I told this to the reception, they didnt care. The other thing is, this hostel is mostly preferred by the school tours so It's full of kids at the age of 15 and you can guess how much noise and trouble they cause. I'd never go there again. Waste of money.

Stayed one night here. Clearly a hostel geared to big groups of school children, which makes it not so welcoming for solo travellers. Having said that, the staff were welcoming and helpful. Internet is ridiculously slow, both on wifi and the computers they provide. Location is a bit out of it, but good if you are coming from the bus station.

Great hostel, the staff were so friendly and helpful! I was travelling alone and a bit nervous but it was great. The hostel is easily accessible, the facilities were good and the drinks cheap!

Great Hostel!! I really enjoyed the staff, the bar, and the cleanliness. My only complaint would be the distance.

This was a very clean and comfortable hostel close to the U-Bahn and S-Bahn, the staff were always friendly and very helpful, the book selection is great as is the bar - particularly the happy hour. The biggest problem with this hostel is that you won't want to leave :)

Hostel for groups only, I wouldn t recomand it for backpackers as it s a huge building, with no kitchen. Internet is very bad, and very slow : don t even think on going on youtube, it bearly works on facebook. But it s a good hostel for groups though : bar restaurant, ping pong table... Very clean.

Amstel Hostel had been one of the best hostels I've ever stayed. The hostel is quite big. The rooms are very clean and beds are comfortable. The lobby was a great place for knowing new people. The location is good. The only problem I faced was regarding wifi. Internet was very slow. However, the facilities covered for it. The staffs are extremely helpful and extremely well spoken. I stayed four nights. I would love to stay there again. And I'll recommend others also. It is indeed a great place.

Only stayed here briefly, but enjoyed it. Easy to get into central Berlin with underground and overground stations nearby and situated near plenty of places to eat. Neighbourhood appeared a little scruffy but hostel was clean, professional and staff were very friendly and helpful. Not luxurious, but great value for money and ideal for a few nights. Shared bathrooms with individual cubicles. 24-hour door was very nice to have.

Staff is very helpfull! Location of Amstel House Hostel is a bit far from the centre, but there is a subway station about 10 minutes from the hostel. I would choose a hostel with a better location next time I'll go to Berlin though. Traveling took us a lot of time, considering we had only 2 days. Rooms were fine and very clean. I did hear a lot of sound coming from the hallway (people walking by). We were also asked to be quiet when it was only 21 o'clock. we did not make noise, just talking.

Internet connection was only feasible in the lobby although mentioned differently. Also, the TV was placed really high in the room so it was impossible to watch from the beds.
