I really liked the atmosphere in the hostel and it's only one thing that I really think can be improved: the wifi. I think it's fine to only offer wifi in the reception area as you know this when booking, however, the capacity is not enough. In the mornings it was almost impossible to connect as so many guest used it at the same time. this is a problem if you have friends at other places and communicating through whatsapp etc.

Cosy, clean and cheap hostel and with friendly staff. But it can get really loud in the rooms cause the walls are thin and you steadily hear ppl walk and talk in the building. If you dont care about it and are there only to sleep cause you visit Berlin all day it is still a good hostel. They should change the pillows by the way ;)

Very big hostel, location is quite far from the center. Staff was nice though and were able to give us some recommendations. A bit stupid that you can't drink your own alcohol (it's a hostel...).

"...you can´t drink your own alcohol (it´s a hostel...)." Thanks for your comment. The reason is, that we operate a hostel bar -and confess- try to sell drinks there at a very, very reasonable price (it´s a hostel...). I think you would agree that it would be weired if you were allowed to bring your own food to a restaurant. So we beg your pardon, but this is our regulation. Anyway we wish you a great spring time and hopefully see you, again.

Staff is very helpfull and know a lot about the city too. It was really cheap as well wich is important if you just wanna make a quik city trip. Furthermore they had a bar, pool table and everything in case you want to stay in the hostel too. Oh.. And cheap cocktails;)

I like this hostel !!! It's situated close to metro station. Single room is very pleasant. During my next visit in Berlin I'll stay there again.

I brought 8 students and another member of staff to stay at Amstel Hostel and it was the perfect place for them to experience their first hostel. Everything was clean, easy to access and the staff were very helpful. We all had a great time and loved the fact that there was space downstairs for them to sit and chat or play on the pool table etc... The kitchen was also a bonus as it meant I could get them to cook which not only saved us a bit of money but also gave them a taste of independence!

I enjoyed staying there. The staff was really nice and the atmosphere was good.

Amazing atmosphere, really good instalations (bedroom is so comfortable!!! We stayed in the 4-bed female), even though is not a walking distance from the center, it takes only 10 minutes by tram. Would definitely reccommend!

It's a nice hostel with a good reception. Music and atmosphere are very good. Bedrooms and bathroom are clean.

No wifi in the room, everything else is perfect.

They need to have free wifi that is accesible throughout the whole hostel.

Dear Noureldin, yes, you might be right. But we´re still a hostel and trying to bring people together talking to each other. We have plenty of spaces in our public areas to get on the internet free of charge. The second reason is that our walls are so strong we would have to invest a lot of money to provide WiFi in all our rooms. We will do this whenever we reach a 90% total Rating! Promised! Take care and thanks for your comment. Amstel House Hostel Berlin
