Amsterdam hostel is a cozy, small hostel right on the beach. The staff was very helpful and friendly and included a lovable puppy who the staff keep a good eye on. Relative to other Chilean hostels I've stayed in it was quite clean and had all of the basic facilities. Major advantages: the people and easy access to the beach. Disadvantage: bunk bed are stacked as three and I bet staying in the top bunk would be scary, especially with no railing to catch you from falling.

Great hostel! feels like your staying at a friends house, the manager is best so accommodating and efficient! Will definitely stay again.

How such a hostel can exist ? The price is super high for this hostel, you have way better for cheaper in the center of Valparaiso. They lie about most of the services they provide, i.e no breakfast included ! It's situated just at the border of the big highway of the city, far away from everything, so noisy as hell and very dirty. The rooms are a joke, bad insulation to cold and very dangerous home made wooden staircase. Owner charged me full price, didn't take into account the 10% paid online.
