For this price the breakfast was very very bad! I could also smell the cat dejection in the corridor! And the washbasin in the bathroom was too small, you couldnt even wash your face without spilling around!

I stayed at this hostel leading to and over queens day and I was extremely dissatisfied with what it offered. A large portion of what made my stay 'below average' was on the hostel booking website the hostel made ALOT of empty promises regarding specifications - it did by have 24/7 hour security, it did not have bike hire and it definitely did my have a renevated interior. Further, the 'communal room' was sub-standard, the bunk beds didn't have ladders... Would I stay here again? Definitely not.

Kitchen is tiny, with not much for cooking meals in. Dudes at the front desk have got to relax. It is a nice place, would stay again, just a couple of things to note.

My companion had a purse left on her bunk bed stolen. As the only ones with access to the room would be those staying in it and hostel staff, it was disconcerting that more wasn't done to locate it as there are many cameras on the floor and I requested they be checked. I understand the hostel is only responsibility for items placed in the locker, but I was told the manager would check them during the afternoon/evening but received no follow-up. The nighttime deskman Luis was very helpful.

Definite value for money! Was a bit apprehensive arriving because everything was cramped, but actually in the end it is completely worth the bargain price we payed... Staff were very friendly, the peanut butter at breakfast was very nice, and many extra points for the cat!!

It is quite closed to Museum park and i think it's really nice place compared to the price cuz it included meals! Also you can use computer for free. But shower facilities is not that good. But i am totally satisfied with this hostel.

The staff was AMAZING!! You get what you pay for. THe hostel is literally a five minute walk from museum square and a 10 minute walk to leidseplein. You have to take a bus or tram to get to Dam square and the Red Light District, but this area is really safe. There was a rat in the room the first day, but only because some people had food all over the place. However, the staff immediately changed rooms for us and luckily no more rats. The facilities seemed dirty, but for the price it's okay.

It was annoying that they did not have a bar of soap or any sanitizer in the bathroom and the rooms were exrremely narrow. The concierge- or person working at the desk did not know the area and be able to recommend restaurants and bars of all varieties from price to taste. He was very nice, but didn't know much about the city.

Our room was changed for some reasons, but the room we live is nice, and the staff here is kind and helpful. The location of former Hostel Janson is not so convenient comparing to the latter, 15 minutes' bus for the central railway station. The facilities of washing room is poor and the breakfast is so simple: just bread and tea or coffee....but overall, it's worth the price.

The staff was rude to not just my party but several others who were trying to check in and out. This occurs several times. The "baggage room" was just piled up bags that blocked the hallway. The rooms were very tiny and the top bunks were difficult to sleep on due to the encroaching slanted ceilings. Would not recommend this place to friends.

it was the first time for me to stay in a hostel. the location is nice nearby the tram stop. suitable to take a walk in the morning. the staff was kind. the breakfast was alright for the money we paid. but was terrified by the big cat sitting on the bed when I entered the room, other than that, it was okay.
