Good value for money for 10 euros per night, definetly not for what they try to charge on weekends. The latch on two bathrooms need to be changed and they were mice on the room.

The hostel was cheap and nice. You had the basic equipment, that in my case is enough to have a pleasent stay. The guys in the reception were really nice and helped whenever I needed something. The only thing I missed was a table and some chairs in the 12-bed room. It would be more comfortable to have some more furniture there.

I stayed only one nite, so its difficult to evaluate, but i think it was good enough. Only problem was the lack of space, more people than the place can comfortably accommodate. Staff members are good and friendly

No LOCKERS or places to leave stuff under key, smaller common areas, Staff need to be train, they do not understand travelers need, to have fun and to be treat fairly, kindly and in a professional way. The rooms are clean but the bathrooms smell like pi all the time. There is no good atmosphere in the hostel since there are no common areas to hung out and personnel is all the time stress. I do not recommend staying at this hostel, and also I paid more than 60 euros for spending a Saturday nigh

There is a problem with mice infestation in this hostel as I had the bad experience of encontering that my bag had been visited by this type of vermines. On another hand, it would be grateful if guest were provided with proper receipt instead of a vulgar piece of paper: after all we are charged a city tax and I wonder how much or any of the money I spent on that tax and the VAT really end up in the Treasury coffer.

This place is amazing, The staffs are so warm, kind and friendly. They introduced us useful information and we became good friends. Next time Hostel Janson will be the only choice if I go to Amsterdam again.

it's very far from city center even though very close to the Van Gogh Museum. the room smells bad maybe because the room I lived is also lived by several terrible boys! the most terrible thing is that I saw a mouse in the room!! when I told the staff about the mouse, he said it's common in Amsterdam and do nothing about it..Moreover, there is only one socket in the room, making it difficult to charge my phone and camera

I really enjoyed my stay at Hostel Janson. I thought it was in an excellent area which was not to busy. I thought the facilities were clean and very bright, I particularly liked the colourful wallpaper. The room itself was functional with good beds and a nice view. Cleaning facilities were good and of a reasonable size. Being given breakfast was a bonus.

The wifi did not work in the hostel. There were definitely not enough showers to accommodate all of the guests, and the toilets were in the same area as the shower so you always had to occupy a toilet when you showered which was very inconvenient. Most of the staff were not from Amsterdam, let alone the Netherlands, and they did not know much about the city. The free "breakfast" was only bread and butter/jam, not even a toaster.

Hotel Kansan is located just off the museum distract which is a 25 min walk from central station or a 10 min tram ride. This however was not bad because it makes you learn the city streets. That is only one of two good things about this place. The rooms are very small and the blankets are little suspect. The staff are about as uncaring as a person can be except for the nice gentleman from morocco. The computers in the "lobby" are free which is nice. All in all if you have somewhere else go

Always someone behind desk, great staff very helpful. Clean place, except wen u get stuck sleeping with a stinky guy. Great location in museum district very close to van gouh rijekkes and many others. Red light district is 15-20 min walk, easier to walk then spend 7.50€ for tram.

Great location next to Museumplein and the wifi actually worked in the room which was a bonus. My only complaints are that there weren't enough power plug-ins in the rooms and the common area didn't have the warmest atmosphere.

The staff should be more friendly, the facilities improved and cleaned, and they charge for leaving the luggage in e last day of checkout! No hostels do that! They charge 3 euros per person! Neve come back
