Hostel was good other than a group of guests who were downstairs smoking. Even after staff came down to talk to them, the group continued to smoke and were very loud until past midnight. Staff finally came down and sent them outside in the front due to numerous complaints from other guests. There was a front area away from the rooms people could hang out in that was near staff. This area was unsupervised and near the private rooms & it seems it should be closed off at night.

Great experience except the people I was with in the room were super rude but it's not the hostel's fault.

the location os great but staff could be more welcoming. the kitchen has very little space to sit down. the outside area is nice but also pretty small for a hostel that big.

San Francisco was the first and the last city in our schedule. And in both times we would stay in this hostel. In the first stay we realised that this is a truly overpriced hostel you'll not get what you paid for. The shower didn't work properly, the room wasn't ventilated enough and the staff is unprepared. And in the second time they lost our reservation. After 11 hours driving with a plane to catch in the next day they offered me two beds in a dorm somewhere else, and I had booked a private.

Okay for a night or two but its grotty and run down. Kitchen area is no where near big enough. However it is in a good location but you can find better hostels in the same area for a similar price.

Overall I was very satisfied. I didnt had breakfast because I am not a pancakes fan and thats why i never saw the kitchen. maybe a quick tour with one of your staff members would been great. Or having somebody that introduces you to some people would make a even better atmospher for people that travels alone like me. In total I need to say that my stay was very nice I met some very nice people and I would recommend you.

Amsterdam hostel is very nice! The private rooms also have their own bathrooms and everything was very clean. The staff was nice but nothing special. It has a great location near lots of good restaurants and cafes. You can easily walk to Fisherman's Wharf and Lumbard St! They have free pancake breakfast in the am too. Cute place and good price for what you get!

Location is very good, cleanliness is good. Staff is kind and helpful. To be honest, you may find other hotels around the same area, with similar prices in single room or even double, if you're traveling with company. This is if you don't really care about the difference between hostel and hotel. Breakfast is poor. You can only make your own pancakes and have coffee. So it's like not having it. But I don't regret staying there. Nice place, even though.

The hostel has an amazing location, it's directly downtown and right next to a bunch of bus lines. The staff was ok, the woman at the reception was unfriendly and not helpful at all. I tried to ask about bus connections and good places to eat that were near by, and she just rolled her eyes and stuffed a map in to my hands. The rooms were clean and very basic, and my roommates were all nice and very respectful of each other. The kitchens were clean but very basic.

The heating was a bit inconsistent - we'd go to bed with the window open because the room was roasting hot, then find that the heat had been turned down (or off?) after midnight and we were freezing. Also the blankets on the bed were skimpy, so I had my sweater on for the second half of the night.

I never lived like this terrible hostel. First of all, the staff were so rude and impolite. Also, the facilities were terrible. Do not use !!!

This was what you expect from a typical hostel. Nothing fancy, just the necessities. It was perfect for one or two nights, but beyond that I could not see staying there any longer. Affordable and convenient. Would stay here again!

I was very happy with my stay at the amsterdam hostel. Its cheap but good, the rooms were clean. All together i can recommend it. The area was kind of creepy at night though, maybe not a good area to stay for alone travelling women or something like that.

The first thing they did was to charge the price with the Hostelworld fee, so basically I paid more money for the room and it wasn't specified. The guy at the reception was so lazy, seems like he wanted to show that he doesn't care about anything. The other guys were ok.

Sorry these answers, but I am not satisfied, I have traveled other Hostel and have never been so poorly received. Especially the staff that I received on Friday night, I do not know if he was high or drunk but very poor attention to a passenger newcomer. I hope you succeed in improving attention, but never again. Luck! Maximiliano Fernandez
