location is very near to the city center, just needa walk all the way up to a hill, so i would suggest to take a cab from powerwell station to the hostel which will cost around $6, i mean if you hv loads of luggage like me, coz i walked for like half an hour which is supposed to be 10 mins walk, a bit disappointed to the staff as they are kind of cold, the room is quite nice, bathroom is clean, in general i would suggest this hostel

the wi-fi does only work in SOME rooms; rooms near kitchen are very loud and smelly; the staff was sometimes a little incompetent / gave wrong information about san francisco; you can hurt yourself easily when climbing up or down a bunk bed cause there's no ladder and some of the bed's edges are sharp; do not expect too much from waffles. positive: 3 computers for public use in the basement, cheap vending machines, washing facility, close to the city center.

I only stayed one night in a private room, but everyone seemed friendly and there were as much waffles as you could eat for breakfast which was good. Also they had lots of info on where to go in san fran and the various places you could go to from there. I'd recommend it.

loved this hostel! had a wonderful vibe! it was like staying in a really cute old house! but everything was very clean and nice. cute little hallways and staircases... just a treat! and i loved the people i met in the very sociable hang-out room! they even had a mini movie theater! a big screen tucked away, with big comfy seats arranged like in a theater! wonderful!!
