This building is beautiful, all woodwork ceilings and spacious patios. There are three gardens, to sit and read a book. There's wifi everywhere and computers available for use. I loved La Candelaria (take the free walking tour!). You can pay whenever and the optional tip goes directly to the single mothers that the hostel employs. The employees are lovely, and did their utmost to make me feel at home. Only downside was the cleaning product they use to scrub the floors, which was a bit nauseating
The private rooms are really nice. Bathrooms are kept very clean. Beautiful hostel, common areas are mostly outdoors which is kind of a pain in Bogota since it's freezing!!
Excellent location, super clean facilities and staff super friendly. Relax atmosphere
I had a wonderful time at this great hostel. The atmosphere is very relaxed and calm in the middle of Bogota's busy center. The staff contributes to a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Dorm, kitchen and bathrooms are very clean, at any time! I can definitely recommend this hostel.
Contrary to what is preached by a lot of quotes and "yoga" spirit of the place, I feel that the hostel's workers are bad treated by the owner. It is a shame that such a beautiful place is managed in a so terrible way against the minimum dignity that the excellent workers deserves. The pilows and mattresses are very old. All days they offer the same juice at the breakfast when Colombia has a lot of fruits. And all days the owner puts the same song that after the first hour can make you crazy.
A bit of an odd place. A 10% tip is requested the moment you step in the door (service is nothing special) and smoking, drinking (no alcohol allowed in the hostel) and eating meat is frowned upon. There are many motivational signs and quotes around (accept your faults! learn to wash your hands properly! charity builds character!) and the place is quiet as a pin. I felt a bit like I was in a convent. But it is in a nice neighborhood, a beautiful old building (mattresses just as old) and spotless.
Really lovely hostel. Very peaceful and in a good spot to see all the best bits.
This hostel is a little gem, it's so peaceful and beautiful. The staff are super friendly and helpful.

Anandamayi is a lovely little oasis in La Candelaria in Bogotá. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. There is plenty of information on sights, activities, etc around the area.
I am human rights activist and I found very offensive to the dignity to the Colombian's victims of forced displacement the advices or notes that the owner of the Hostel put in all rooms: It says explicitly that the refugees are the cause, among others, of the insecurity of the city. I strongly disagree with that offensive statement as well as a lot of NGO, universities and international bodies that have documented this kind of stereotyped and stigmatized statements.
Spotless. Secure. Chill. Bohemian. This is what you'll find at Anandamyi in the so-called "sketchy old town" of Bogota. La Candelaria is not sketchy as you may hear, however, Anandamayi is super secure. This is not a party hostel----thank heavens, and is a place you can enjoy a good book on a hammock and recharge your battery to immerse yourself in the pleasantly chaotic mega-city of Bogota. There are cheaper options, but this is a wonderful place unless you're looking to get wasted.
The atmosphere at this hostel was incredible - beautiful courtyards and rooms, friendly guests, and pleasant staff. The tea in the kitchen is delicious, and it was always hot! However, both times I tried to take a shower there was no hot water. They also ask for a 10% tip when you check in and pay, which I thought was a little weird.
Great peacefully beautiful place to stay. Everything is well organised and functions to the travelers needs. Highly recommend this place

Probably the best hostel I've ever been to. Not for party animals but if you seek a refuge to recharge your batteries, this place is definitely your best choice. Wonderful vibe, great staff and very central location, I book a bed there anytime I come back to Bogotá and I've been recommending it to everybody I meet. Nobody has been disappointed yet and I'm sure you won't be either!
Hostel was excellent - gardens were beautiful, room was spotless. Staff was very helpful & tea and coffee all day was nice. Location is a little iffy during weeknights when police presence is less visible, but daytime&weekends it is great. Would definitely stay again.
A very relaxed and calm hostel. I ended up doubling the length of my stay. Great location with most interests within walking distance. Staff are very friendly and speak in Spanish. Would recommend it for a chilled stay.
A really beautiful converted house with lots of lovely details. The showers were hot, and the staff super friendly and helpful. It was a little quiet - but that was the guests, rather than the hostel itself
Staff where really nice and the building is amazing! Breakfast was really good too.
