The place hires single mothers which is a great idea but some aren't trained to check you in. However a great place, a bit pricey, but a perfect escape for a few days. Great wood stove in the kitchen area to keep, you warm!

Truly beautiful old casa. No cabbie can find it. Even after explaining the street situation, my driver drove around in circles. A cab from the airport ar night actually costs COP $22,500. The dorm is really pleasant, but it is very cold. Breakfast is nice, and the whole place is quiey and has a nice vibe. Excellent library of philosophy, religion, spiritualism, natural health, etc. BUT best of all is the staff. The young women who work for the owner are true blessings whole really want to make their

The place to find zen in the chaos of Bogota. Meditative music, bonzai gardens, and round-the-clock silence makes this a great place to relax and gather your thoughts. The beds are comfortable and, although it gets chilly at night, come with as many blankets as you wish. Towels and breakfast (minimal) are free. Bathrooms are very clean and plentiful, but the hot water only lasts 10-15 minutes at a time, so shower quickly. Most of the staff do not speak English, but are very helpful nonetheless.

one of the most beautiful hostels i've ever stayed in, quiet but that does not mean that you don't get to meet anyone - the kitchen / dining room is super cozy with it's wood burning oven, especially on a cool night, and everyone hangs out there. never had to wait for bathroom/shower, nice breakfast, tasty coffee and tea all day; i stayed in the shared room and as others have noted - it did not feel too crowded even when it was full. i loved anandamayi and hope to return there some day soon!

This is a quiet hostel with little atmosphere. The staff are very nice and helpful giving advice on how to get to the local attractions. Good kitchen and the hot water bottles were a great added extra. If you are looking to meet other travellers and have a party this is not the place for you, but it is the place to come if you want a relaxed couple of days.

What a fantastic place! it was like a home away from home. The atmosphere was very friendly and relaxed - a oasis in the middle of the bustle of a big city. I

Espeecially enjoyed the atmosphere, WiFi, and cleanliness. Would be better if twe could come and go without having staff unlock and lock the front door for us everytime if possible in the future. Al o, although tips are suggested (albeit voluntary) at the time of registration, it seems a bit presumptuous to imply payment upfront -- particularly as the entire bill plus key deposit is also required to be paid upfront the first night. Still, overall, the experience at the hostel was great.

A very peaceful place to come to. An oasis in the middle of the Candelaria. A good place for travellers who like to meditate, since there are many places to sit undisturbed in one of the gardens. The gardens are beautiful and calming, with lovely bonzai trees and running water. This is not a party hostel, so it fits people looking for something else (not a place for smoking or drinking). The private rooms are very nice, and the dorm is one of the best I have ever seen in a hostel.

Thank goodness we found this hostel and did not end up in those we found referred in books as we saw those and indeed this one not only is off the noisy roads, but has a quality of standards that elevates the hostel experience. We stayed 3 nights and venture on foot all over bogata and to the salt cathedral. security was not an issue in town, on buses or in the hostel. we so enjoyed bogata more than we expected. flights via avianca are easy and cheap to book for visits to other great stays.
