Great Hostel, great staff. It was very empty when I was there, so none of the tours took place, but I expect if there are more people the place is a lot of fun. One night we even got free mongolian Hotpot. (I think if there are more people it would not be for free, so we got lucky ;-)).

ok hostel, good enough. clean good-sized rooms, kitchen facilities, friendly-ish staff, wifi; all you need. negative is they were completely unorganized. upon arrival after over-night train, sat for 2 hours being told not sure of room situation (i had confirmed HW booking), 20 people standing around waiting for grasslands tour not having a clue what's going on, staff saying hostel full while hostelworld showed 20 beds available. hostel's fine, just confirm before arriving to no room.

Went over China's national holidays, so they are understandably busy. However, staff are both completely disorganized and completely incompetent. Staff would ignore you or just straight up lie. One toilet and one shower (in the same room) for every 25-ish people. Bathroom at hostel always dirty. The desert tour guide, Brain, was the best part -- he is sweet and hilarious. Unfortunately, there were not enough sleeping bags supplied and dinner was steamed white rice (not Brain's fault).

When we arrived at the guesthouse it turned out that there weren't enough rooms, so they had to book us (+ 8 others) over to another hotel. This wasn't so bad, except that it took all night before we were sure that we had a place to sleep. We also booked a three day dessert/ grasslands tour. As it turned out we couldn't stay in the dessert (while booked in advance) as they didn't bring enough tents. Great trip nonetheless, but the poor arrangements seem typical for Anda's Guesthouse.

The staff at Anda hostel is helpful and relatively flexible. I stayed there during the National Day holiday in October and it was insanely busy, so I recommend visiting during another time if possible. The three-day, two-night tour was well done, although it is no frills. While food is provided for you, don't expect anything fancy. We had instant rice and meat in the desert and I know others were given instant noodles. Request Brain as your tour guide. He is tons fun

Good tours in grasslands and desert, but the way to go there in bus is very long and the schedules are not respected....

Nice hostel in nice location. Friendly people and very interesting tours. We took the 2 days tour to desert and Lama Temple and it was worth the money. Yes, it's a little bit touristic, but I think this is not to bad in this area and it's by far not overrun by tourists. We will probably come back for the grasslands tour in a year or two.

The bathrooms are not clean.. rooms aarend common areas are okay. More signage is needed since it is at end of unattractive dead end alley--no way to see it as one heads down alley. NStaff are the best part--several--jessie and brain- speak very good english and always eager to be helpful!!- Grassland trip is well worth it-- as close as it gets to Mongolian family experience. Lack of refrigeration or cooking facilites.

The staff at Anda is wonderful! They are very accommodating and go out of their way to make you feel at home. The tours of the grasslands, desert, and the Great Wall are fabulous! I would highly recommend staying here!

Pickup at train station was perfect! Cleaniness of common bathrooms could be better (please clean it at least once a day!). Very young and unexperienced staff (some girls only worked there for 6 days, others 2 weeks), If you ask something they smile, go away to ask someone and come back with the answer. Trip to Grasslands was great! We asked to book our train tickets to Xi'an, which they did, but on the wrong date! So we had to find other transport to Xi'an by plane. Organise and train staff !

The staff was very friendly, very helpful and very understanding. I forgot my passport (eek!), yet they allowed me to access my room and accepted a scanned copy of my passport later in the evening. My only complaint is that the security is too good. They lock the doors at 11:30 PM and don't open the doors until maybe 7:00 AM. My train left at 8 in the morning, and I had to find a staff member to unlock the door for me.If you're planning on being out very late, a hotel might be better.
