I was very happy with the hostel. Clean, cozy, great location. The staff were all very friendly and helpful...the bbq on the roof was a nice touch, as well...No complaints whatsoever and will be back next time I´m in Santiago.

My boyfriend and I booked to stay in a dorm... obviously the SAME dorm... (there were no privates left)... and when we turned up to check in they'd given my bed away and said we had to be split up, with myself sleeping in the female only dorm. Super lame. And of course they didn't mention this until AFTER they'd already charged my credit card for the entire stay...

Andes was a perfect place to stay in Santiago with close proximity to the central city (plaza de armas) and the bustling nightlife of Bellavista. The staff were always helpful and provided a great experience and culture. It felt safe although there was one incident involving the theft of a bag inside the hostel. Just be careful wherever you go and don't take security for granted, even inside the safety of the walls. Apart from this one unfortunate occurrence everything was GREAT!!!

We did not stay in the Hostel. We stayed in the apartments that they rent and left one block. It´s an excellent alternative (especially for families) and found the location superb with a supermarket next door. Quality - price, excellent. Thanks

If 3 out of 5 people in a lobby have on headphones, it might be time to change the music. Chileans clearly dig metal and grunge from the 1990s. Facilities are excellent, - best bathroom set up! Fruit for breakfast would be inexpensive and appreciated.

The hostel is great but there are 2 issues I want to report: 1) a guy with a gun came into the kitchen during pizza and wine and robbed a girl taking her purse, it let all scared. 2) More control to what bed was left and what was not so that sheets were really closed, i got the impressions they had strains and were dirty with hair and dust at times.

Very centrally located, therefore convenient. Convenience store, laundromat and metro just across street. No elevator and there are 4 floors. No air conditioning. So very warm in summer. Private rooms do have flat screen TV.

The greatest surprise of Santiago! I loooooooove Andes Hostel! Me and my friend stays at private room with bathroom. Great bed, great bathroom with hot water and bathtub. The breakfast was little bit poor: coffee, milk, blacktea, mixed-eggs, one type of bread, cake, butter, peach jam and dulce de leche; but has so many markets around that this is not a problem. The staff is really great! They call to reservation things if you ask! Free wi-fi at lobby! I got in my room too, but my friend didnt! ♥

This has been a wonderful introduction to hostels. I keep extending my stay for various reasons, but quality of Andes is close to the top of the list. I'm afraid it can only get worse from here.

Awesome hostel, great location in the center of Santiago. Good atmosphere, good people and clean bathrooms. They organize lots of events which are great for meeting other people in the hostel.

great place... very community oriented with their bbq and party nights. The best thing about this was the location... a short walk to bella vista which is where all the neighborhood nightlife comes out. Fun environment and super comfy beds. People working there are super helpful and will direct you the best way possible. Do the free tour its great!!!!

Bring ear plugs if your room faces the main road because it gets LOUD. Wifi in the room was a hit-and-miss -- sometimes it worked, other times it didn't. The location was great -- heaps of restaurants nearby, and the supermarket is just a five minute walk away.

Great place, great people, evenings and parties organised by the hostel, very clean place, more like a hotel than a hostel, great hot showers and very friendly stuff. You won't get the room before 2 pm though but there is a bar, computers, wifi and you may even get breakfast if you arrive in the morning!
