Only one staff member was actually nice at this hostel. Everyone else was completely unhelpful. We had a twin room with an ensuite and it was freeeeeeezing. We asked for another blanket and they said they had run out. The heater didn't work either.

We stayed in one of the apartments which is just around the corner from the hostel. The apartment was great value and perfect for 3 days. The only odd thing is there is a TV in the bedroom, but not the lounge. Would definitely stay again.

I booked a private bedroom but upon arrival there were non available. The woman at the reception didn't speak English and wasn't very helpful. We ended up staying in a 6 bed dorm. The bathrooms were disgusting. The toilet didn't have light and the door wouldn't close so I had use it with a torch and holding the door closed. 1 of the 2 showers was broken and the floor was flooded. When returning from dinner the entrance was open and the drunk receptionist just asked if I was a guessed - security?

Andes Hostel is centrally located in Santiago, next to the Bellas Artes Metro stop on Line 5 (green line). It is right next to the start point of the Santiago walking tours and not a far walk from Plaza de Armas where live music concerts, artists and other performers are happening. The hostal is located in a fairly quiet area. The breakfast is basic - bread/toast with some cereal and coffee. We found all aspects of the place a fair value when compared to alternatives in the city.
