Andes Hostel is centrally located in Santiago, next to the Bellas Artes Metro stop on Line 5 (green line). It is right next to the start point of the Santiago walking tours and not a far walk from Plaza de Armas where live music concerts, artists and other performers are happening. The hostal is located in a fairly quiet area. The breakfast is basic - bread/toast with some cereal and coffee. We found all aspects of the place a fair value when compared to alternatives in the city.

We booked hostel, but staff gave us an apartment in nearby building. So we lived like in a hotel, not in hostel with nice atmosphere around other travelers.

Me and my friend book to beds in a six bed female dorm but when we arrieved there the staff told us that they did not have any six bed female room, only 8 beds. So Andes need to update the information. The room was supersmall, there was only four lockers in the room (four outside but who do not want their things in the room?). But a really sweet staff member made so we could change to a supernice apartments instead, thanks!!! the location of the hostel i so good!!

We stayed in an apartment on a neighbouring street, not in the hostel itself. Aside from a little difficulty finding it (the doorman at the apartment complex was adamant that there was no hotel and no connection with the Andes Hostel), everything was great. The apartment was lovely with a kitchen, a small balcony, a fan, wifi. The location was good, convenient to everything. The staff at the Andes were friendly and helpful, allowing us to leave suitcases in their basement for several days.

Our friends booked the same room and were given an apartment with kitchen where as we just had one room with a bathroom. Sheets were dirty with hair all throughout. Room was right next to street with curtains that didn't keep the street lights out. Wifi also didn't work in room. Very disappointing for price that you pay

Besides the great location, this hostel was underwhelming. The bathrooms were terrible to the extent that we avoided showering. Shower doors would not shut and were filthy, and I have pretty low shower standards. Maybe just a bad time that we were there, but was not a particularly social hostel.
