A cleaner kitchen would be nice. What also would be nice is to have clearer instructions on use of the kitchen equipment present (like the dishwasher which was kind of hidden away in the second building) and garbage disposal and so on. And people need locks and keys for their in-room lockers, especially if the only type of security is the electronically locked front door (of the second building).
A very nice little French hostel. The building was a little hard to find, so be sure to have a copy of their directions handy as it is a little confusing getting there. Great atmosphere, very understanding staff, and the closest to the city you'll get without paying a fortune. The house itself is older, so although the staff kept it clean it definitely doesn't have the sanitized feel of some other hostels. The beds are clean and there are lockers for valuables.
There could have been brighter lights in the kitchen!
Alex was great, when I arrived he was really helpful and kind.
Great place to stay in Annecy. Local supermarket, ATM and pharmacy close by. Walking distance to transport stations, and Old Town. Bus stop close by. The backyard is lovely and it was really cute to hang my laundry up to dry. The beds were comfortable, toilets clean, showers with decent temperature and water pressure. Huge towel rental for only a euro. Highly recommended all up.
Comfort level is very low in this hostel. But worry not, the city totally makes up for it tenfolds. There's beauty in old town and in the lake areas and you can spend your time there instead of the hostel. Overall, safe place yes, but dirty. I don't really care if there's hair in showers or so but it was obvious that the showers had not been cleaned for a very very long time. Kitchen also messy and tables. Backyard is nice though, if you have big groups of people talking. Wifi only in downstairs
The cleaner walked into our room twice without knocking while we were sleeping. The front door staff were not very friendly, the inside area was dark and dingy and the rooms felt like prison cells. I liked what had been done with the outdoor area though and the kitchen was good for cooking.
Friendly staff, just walking distance from Old Town, big & beautiful garden
location is perfect!. i can go to the old town on foot. beautiful environment!! there is a large garden for eating. stuffs are welcoming. recommanded!
My brother and I loved staying at his hostel! The staff was nice, everything was in perfect walking distance and the backyard facilities are just amazing. Great place to just relax, chill, and meet other travelers!
The room was fine, the garden is quite pretty and great for the summer. The kitchen is a bit small if a lot of People want to cook. There was a bigt Problem as the magnetic key didn´t function in the morning. I went to get some Food from the car at 8am and could not get back in till 8.30 when the reception desk was finally opened. As we wanted to leave early this was certainly a downer. Moreover the girl at the reception didn´t apologize, but simply said this happens now and aga

Annecy Hostel is perfect for travellers and short time stayers! Gives guests an opportunity to meet other like minded folk and share their travelling stories as well as passing on hints and tips to one another. Lovely atmosphere set by the cosy living room and kitchen space, topped off by the super chilled and spacious garden area. The room and facilities were more than what can be expected for the price you pay. Would definitely recommend to anyone and I'm sure we will be back!
Overall everything is good. But it does not feel clean. I felt greasy. Need renovation here and there. Please improve the cleaning service.

Slightly expensive (although most hostels is France are), but the rooms and bathrooms are clean and comfortable. The people, staff, and volunteers at the hostel were great. Kitchen is well equipped, common room is very relaxed, veranda seems very nice - lots of couches, chairs and table. I had a good time, thanks!
Had an impression that there were more staff than the customers and there were not enough space in common area for everyone. The most drawback was terrible WIFI during my stay. They said it's not like that normally..........but well. Also felt a little bit offensive when some staff were more helpful to certain customers but not to everyone. But to be honest, quite good in general..... recommendable.
Not my style, it felt like a share house of Uni students. Wifi was only available in the common areas, there was no covering on the dorm window, there was a bathroom attached to the dorm but it had only a shower and sink, no toilet. On the positive the staff were friendly and accommodating.
This place was great. The volunteers are all awesome and so friendly! Jo, Gareth, and Carlos made my trip :) they were so fun, helpful, and really nice! It's very comfy and close to the market and town. The backyard and garden is beautiful! Wish there was more room inside the hostel for common areas. Only one small living room that the owner Drew often filled with his personal friends playing xbox. Kind of a bummer when people that paid for the space would like to use it. Overall, awesome!!!

We loved Annecy. The Hostel is well located.
Staff was very friendly, please is very well located and rooms are pretty ok ! the only thing I dislike is: - No internet in the rooms - Internet downstairs works from time to time
bad sides are indeed the low cleaness (dust, hair, spots on "clean" linens), stink of staint and thin walls that let every single noise been heard
