i tried to call this lodge to change our arrival time. we had an issue with a train connection and we didn't make it into town until 10pm. they didn't not pick up there phone and when we walked to down to the building there was no way to get in. we ended up walking around for ages looking for a phone to try them again. no luck. we ended up staying at a hotel (which was difficult, because some big events were going on in the city and everything was booked up). it was a terrible time.

Facts: 1 (stinking) shower, 2 toilets, no windows, sticky air in the morning, sometimes hard to find sleep (especially with a french guy/child coughing the whole night), mini-lockers, but: great location, cheap, many restaurants and a lidl (cheap beer) in the near, and it's never been so easy to get to know people from everywhere in the world, drinking might be forbidden in the hostel, but the receptionist leaves after 8 pm ;) It was really funny there, but you should be open-minded.

If you don't carry too much luggage this place is perfectly fine. One thing you must consider is that there is one shower shared amongst 24people or so and there is no ventilation. Other problems include the beds being so close to each other and there only being one room for the whole hostel (where the beds are); thus, it's virtually impossible to sleep at night, or on the other-hand, speak at night.
