Black sand beach is literally right there, but the sand is small black pebbles which hurt like hell in april when it's still windy. Luckily, Anny's has a fantastic pool and bar on site so we just went in. Fasilios (sp?) the reception man is amazing and directed me to the best seafood meal of my life - Fratzeskos. Also helped us get half off volcano tour tickets in Fira. We went before tourist season so it was quiet but we liked it after the chaos of Athens. Shower needs work tho - no fixture.

the area was fantastic, literally 30 seconds from the black beach, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful in letting us know how to get around the island, and booking the volcano tour for us. but more than anything we felt completely comfortable and at home, particularly when the weather got bad and we were able to chill out in the communal area with the other guests and staff. Couldn't recommend anywhere more highly even so early in the season

Staff was awesome and so helpful! Favorite hostel i've ever stayed at. Really close to the beach and right in the middle of the town.
