Ansteys Beach Backpackers Reviews

This hostel is out of town away from everything and although we made arrangements to be picked up at the airport the guy didn't show up. So to avoid the extremely expensive transport we hoped on a shuttle downtown which dropped us off at a taxi who didn't know where to go. After asking for directions when finally found the address which was a locked gate in the middle of no where in the middle of the night. The entrance is not the same address as shown. They didnt even save the right room for us

Anstys had a really nice low key vibe during our stay- althhough we were there during a quiet time. It seems like it would be a lot busier during summer months. The only aspect of our stay that was less impressive was our double bedroom was in a shed-like building so it had a very "rustic" feel. The kudu photo on the wall was pretty sweet though. Overall a good stay and we'd recommend Antsey's.

Great place right on the beach with nice surf atmosphere, clean rooms and positive staff. We enjoyed our stay!

Anstey's seems like a good place to stay if you surf as they have surfing equipment to buy and rent. It's also a great location if you want to stay right on the beach. Otherwise it's far from the city so it can be inconvenient to get there. But, IF YOU ARE TAKING THE BAZ BUS I WOULD NOT STAY HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO PAY 150 RAND FOR THE PICK UP ELSEWHERE.

Very close to the beach and a few surf-spots. The 4-bed dormitory that I stayed in was a little too small, but I was lucky enough to have it to myself during my whole stay. If the waves were pumping then, everything would have been perfect. Maybe next time?!

Enjoyed my stay great value and location with a short walk to the beach.Lots of surfers. Staff were very helpful. I will definitely stay there again
