Ozan (the reception guy) doesnt speak english at all but is really really nice and servicial. good place, really good experience
Overall nice place to stay. My room is very clean and the couple run the hotel very friendly and helpful.
Nice little hostel with helpful staff members and a sitting area upstairs. Good breakfast. Very close to restaurants and some of the main sights. Not the most comfortable of beds (springs dug into my back), private rooms very small and shower (which is over the toilet) didn't stay hot for very long. BUT great location as long as you're a heavy sleeper and won't awake to the sunrise prayers that are blaring over the speakers right behind the hostel. All in all, a good enough place to stay.
The breakfast is good and the common room comfortable. Staff were helpful and nice. The room was passable. It's in a good location.
Staff is very nice. Nice view from breakfast area.
Staff was nice(looks like family running hostel) The break fast was good.Hand make potato dish was very nice! Close to Blue mosque and Ayasofia is plus! They can just make bit of effort for facility make it prettier and give it more character :)
Great location helpful staff good breakfast to fuel your day

Little hard to find, but a nice average hostel, with nice staff
The staff was very nice and the hostel is right in the centre of the historical centre of Istanbul. But it is difficult to find (in a small street) and the room was dirty (cockroach!!!). However nice terrace for breakfast served till late and it is one of the cheapest hostel in Sultanhamet.
for me the security was very poor because the windows was near the other building, also it was not too strong. in general, breakfast was good and staffs are excellent
Also frühstückten wir woanders. Es gab nur einen Schlüssel also keine getrennte Unternehmungen .
This was a great hostel, we enjoyed our stay so much. The room was nice and clean. I would recommend to any one who is looking for a cheap , clean, safe and nice stay. The location is so great that all the historic places are in a walking distance. The manager Mr. Raschid is a great person. They are so helpful. Great place, thank you Anzac Wooden House..

Excellent location. Owner, Rashit, is one of the nicest and friendliest people you'll meet. I recommend this place for it's combination of location and price. Literally, less than a five minutes walk to the Blue Mosque. Rooms are small, simple and clean. But, with Istanbul outside, all we did was sleep there. Breakfast is light and easy and completely satisfying. The place was undergoing some reconstruction when we where there, but it did not effect our stay much. Recommended!
nice place in a very good position, behind the blue mosque.rooms quite clean and over the average for that price. very kind and nice staff. and good breakfast!
We got the room not in the main hostel, but in its another part. The room was very small, without any chair or table, only a bed and a wardrobe with broken drawers. The window was out of order. There should be air-conditioning (mentioned in Hostelworld's description!), but there wasn't. After our complaints we got a small fan, but it wasn't enough and the room was very hot. And the most important: broken room locking! Good location, good breakfasts. Maybe in the main building everything is OK...
We are really in love with this place. The price you are gonna pay is really fair. The Anzac Wooden Place is a cheap way to stay in Istanbul, so you'll have a basic structure: if you are looking for a simple and cheap place, it is this. But this is not enough: here we really found a deep human connection. Rashid, Emren and the others guys of the hotel are cosy, gentle, nice and empathic in an autenthic way. They epitomize the warm soul of turkish people. Go at the Anzac W.H. !
