One word - Amazing! This has to be the best place I stayed in when traveling around Thailand. Aoi and her colleagues are the most friendly people and are really helpful. I wish I could have stayed longer. Definitely would recommend doing the cooking course and trekking through the hostel, very well organise. For those people looking to relax and chill out, this is the place to be. It is very social, yet not a party hostel.

There are not enough good things to say about this place! We only booked one night before we arrived and immediately booked four more nights once we got there. We absolutely fell in love with Aoi and her garden home! We stayed in multiple rooms over the course of our stay and they were all clean, awesomely decorated and comfy. The staff are all so friendly and the fruit shakes are the best I've had anywhere in Asia so far. The garden is so beautiful and well taken care of, with great atmosphere!

The most welcoming place I've been to. The owner AOI is absolutely wonderful, so warm and so caring! As well as the rest of their staff, always helpful, always smiling - it feel like home. And the place itself is so cosy and so beautiful. One of the best experiences I've had. And they are probably the only place in Thailand where you can have a hot shower :) Can't praise enough and can't thank enough!!!

I LOVED Aoi's Garden Home. It's clean, the location is great, dorms have real beds not bunks, and the garden is beautiful and serene. Best of all, Aoi is so wonderful. She really cares that all of her guests feel at home. I felt so welcomed and taken care of. This place was recommended to me by another traveler and I will recommend it to everyone I meet who is going to Chiang Mai. Book early, it was full the whole time I was there.

For about a few bucks per person per night, Aoi Garden Home is pretty good value for the money. The location is not in the main backpackers' area, but it's only a 10 minute walk from the action and very close to the North Gate of the old city, making it very convenient to catch a song taew. My favorite part is the garden courtyard, where you can easily meet and talk to other travelers and Aoi herself.

The hostel needs to wash the comforters more often, they are visibly stained. The floors need to be swept more often and the bathrooms cleaned as well.

A great place to hang out and meet people. Owners are extremely friendly. The whole hostel looks like a hippie resort with a campfire, great music, swimming pool and beautiful view.

I loved everything about Aoi Garden Home. Aoi is one of the most generous, life-affirming souls I have ever had the pleasure of meeting, and her hostel is a direct reflection of her warm, reflective being. From the moment we arrived until we reluctantly had to leave, Aoi and her team went out of their way to make us feel welcome, relaxed, and informed about all of the possibilities of Chiang Mai.

Aoi was a great proprietor and mentor! She was super helpful for anything- touring advice, trip recommendations, and life advice. The rooms and amenities were simple, clean, and well kept. The garden area is beautiful with many places to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee or beer. The staff was also extremely friendly and helpful. I would love to return to Chiang Mai just to stay with Aoi again!

This place is excellent. Its so peacefull and close to shops and the Yellow corner where you can have a party. I still cannot believe that staying at this place is so cheap and easygoing. Not only easy to make contact with other travellers, but also with the friendly staff. The night bazar area is a bit far to walk, but takes you onlyn15 min if you go by tuktuk. It was sad that this place was fully booked when i would extend my stay, but i understand it!
