I had a private room with fans. The bathrooms are ok. Staff was helpfull. I could walk everywhere I wanted so that's an extra plus. Meeting people wasn't really easy being a solo traveller

I had a great stay, the staff was really nice and helpful. The walls of the rooms are made of wood and are quite thin, so if you're a light sleeper you might have problems. If you use Ohropax, you should be fine. I loved the atmosphere at this place, very relaxing. Many places in walking distance. Try the prison massage close by.

This hostel is so friendly and lovely. If you are looking for a hostel with heart, this is the place to go and once you get there you will know why right away! It's so nice to hang out around the bar, in the garden. Location, clean, cheap and lovely staff. What do you want more?! :)

Aoi Garden is a great place to meet people, the only thing I didn't like was the fact that it was far away from the centre. (15 minute walk)

Our stay at aoi gardens was amazing! Staff are so friendly and helped us book trips and buses etc and always there to help. Breakfast was really nice and rooms were clean and comfortable. I would recommend this hostel to everyone and would definitely go back again and again.

Aoi Garden Home is pretty good, it just located in the city, and the staff is very friendly. Room is clean and comfatable, the only disadvantage is the wifi signal in the room is not that good.

Aoi Garden home was a simply amazing place to stay. The rooms were clean with lockers and shelves to unpack and feel at home. The garden was shady and great for relaxing and meeting people. Amazing iced coffee and muesli. And Aoi herself was the real magic. She really cares about the people staying there and goes to extraordinary lengths on their behalf.

Surprisingly clean and pretty surroundings for this kind of price. Everyone abided by the rules and kept the shower area as clean as possible, especially with the 'no shoes/sandals' rule. Staff was awesome and super helpful at all times, lending me a phone charger when mine broke down, offering lots of transport info, taking care of all the activity reservations and always being there when you need them. Need mosquito repellent though!

The property was always kept very clean. Decent location and quiet. The common area was very inviting.

Very beautiful place and nice place. A bit irritating that you couldn't close the door without locking it so a dubbleroom may be a bit annoying if your wanna come back at different time or sleep at different time. Else, it was really nice.

Lovely guesthouse near the north gate with great breakfast.

Really nice place. We had a twin private shared bathroom with air con and definitely good value for money. Really nice, clean, sociable and good breakfast available. A little bit of a walk at the end of the day but nice to be out of the craziness. Would recommend this place.

Stayed here two separate times during my Thai travels. The staff is amazing as they helped my group book our various elephant tours, jungle treks, etc. They offer a decent breakfast and adequate drinks and espresso for the mornings, but no other food is offered. Great atmosphere to meet people and walking to the moat for 7/11 trips, Zoe Yellow club nights, or food options is very fast and easy.

Good staff. The rooms without air condition is very hot. A city like Chiang Mai, I think all rooms need to have air con. But the price of the rooms are very good.

I can't find the words to describe how amazing this hostel is! The staff truly do an exceptional job at making sure everyone is well taken care of. From keeping rooms/bathrooms clean to booking everyone's activities...in fact, they should really be charging more... :) It's sad to see some of the reviews that complain about noise (hard to control large groups),price of beer, how hot it is in the rooms (come on...you're in thailand. for the price you pay, can't expect to get ac everywhere.) 100%!

Stayed here in '11 under a different name - it was good then but now it's even better. The garden area is pretty with fairy lights, tables and shade. The rooms are simple but the effect works - it feels minimalist rather than basic. The staff are friendly and always on hand for advice. There are always people around tending to the gardens / rooms. Lovely location within the moat but in a quiet part. Stayed with husband and 50 year old parents, all loved it! Thank you!

The staff were always available to help with any bookings you needed doing in the area or any things you were concerned about. They always had a smile on their face and seemed to genuinely care about the people they had staying there - a fantastic atmosphere.

Pretty great all around! Staff was extremely helpful. They'll sit down with you and help you plan out your whole stay if you like, but they're not pushy like some other places I've stayed at. Particularly good for people traveling on their own. I'll be sure to stay with them again.
