Apa Kaba was a nice retreat down a small alley surrounded by a lovely garden. We stayed in the basic twin which was ok, the beds were quite comfy but the shutters over the window couldn't be completely closed so we were bitten to death by mossies! The bathrooms are good but could be a little cleaner. The staff were great and really friendly and helpful. Free breakfast was large with fresh fruit and a selection of local foods. For the price, would stay again!

Apa Kaba is a little paradise in a lovely city. The colourfull house and the lovely garden plus the nice owners made our stay in Malakka a very nice one. We can absolutely recommend this house!

stayed in a basic twin room for one night. there is no air-con, so it is a little hot in the evening. suggest to upgrade to one with air-con. the house is some kind of malay style, with wooden floor. everything else is ok.

Great location close to the centre, but indeed in a quiet area and with a big garden. The breakfast was much more than the ordinary toast and jam - different local specialities were additionally available every day. If you like a quiet place to take a rest it's the perfect place. But you also have to be a quiet person as the house is made of wood and every word can be heard.

Apa kapa was a lovely quiet relaxing place to stay. Staff our very friendly and helpful. Perfect stop off place for a couple of days, maybe not much longer as limited things to do. There are shops and restaurants within walking distance so everything you need really.

There is nothing else I can pick on. The 3 bed private ensuite room that we are staying in is spacious, cosy and really clean. People around us is welcoming, makes us feel at home indeed. Love the atmosphere and location, not too near to the happening Jonker Walk, this is what we wanted. However, the rooms appeared not to be sound proof or rather least sound proof. So we were very careful in our noise level as we returned to guesthouse quite late at night. Will be back for the same atmosphere!!

This guest house is excellent, very tidy and clean, the most important is the owner Kenny who is so kind and so nice to the travellers. His hospitality made us very comfortable staying in Apa Kaba and also made me love Melaka. I will recommend this guest house and Kenny to everyone of my friends.

Ths place is a little piece of heaven I'm the middle of thriving Melaka. Fully recommend staying here. The guys are so helpful. We were there for a week. We got taken out to dinner by the owner one night. Thought it was just the once, but the next day Kenny was taking others out too! We got a free upgrade on the last night. I was such half the week and they brought me done herbal tea that helped me get better. Thanks guys!

WONDERFUL! Had photographed the beautiful garden last year & returned to stay. But the real treat was staying in a 100year old family home. Loved the family, the interesting home, & marvellous breakfasts. Sitting in the garden, watching the chickens, ducks, rabbit, ... so relaxing! If you are very lucky, Kenny's Father might show you around the Kampong. I was VERY lucky! Handy to tourist sites, but good to return to relax in the quiet. (Have stayed in 4 guesthouses in Melaka - this is the best!)

The staff was wonderful! The whole place has very thin walls which makes it a little loud in the morning, be prepared to be woken up around 8am at the latest. Other than that, I would recommend this hostel to anyone and everyone, it was very charming and exactly what we wanted from a hostel plus so much more.

Stayed there for some days in a twin room with shared bathroom. Really nice place, wonderful quiet garden to relax outside, tasty breakfast with local food and a really nice staff / family. Location is also good, River and Jonker Street are in walking distance (10 - 15 Minutes). Easy to find and you´ll see the life in the village.

Really enjoyed our stay. Just a 5 minute walk to all tourist locations. The breakfasts were delicious. The staff are lovely and hospitable. The rooms are all clean and had lots of character. Stayed with 3 teenagers who all loved the place.

Charming place with a beautiful garden to relax from the busy town Melaka. The rooms are simple but very nice and clean. Through the wooden walls sometimes you might hear your neighbours. The owner of the guesthouse and his family is very kind and helpful. The breakfast that is provided is excellent with fruits and variable specialities of the country (Roti, chinese pastries, coconut-cookies...). All in all a wonderful place.
