The stella was really hard to find to stranger. But once you get the location, it's really easy to get the old town. And good hosts are really kind and gentle so you don't need to worry about it.
If we considered the value for money this place will be the best. I have payed around 120 for renting it 4 nights me and my girlfriend. but some information have to be corrected. this place is not 5 minutes far away from the old town, it's at least 15 mins since you have to go up around (343) stairs to reach the hostel from the old town, therefore it's definitely not convenient for old people. also it's far away from the regional bus station. around 1 hour walking
We really liked Apartments Stella, it was a great place to stay despite all the stairs to arrive to it. The couple that work there are extremelly nice and helpful. It was a good choice for our vacation in Dubrovnik, I would recommend it without hesitate.
Pavo who owns the place is very sweet, he helped us out when our bag went missing on our flight. There are 434 steps from the old town to this apartment, but that was fine, we took it easy up the steps and did not feel so bad about all the ice creams we ate ;) A kitchen is a really great facility when you are travelling and with supermarkets and markets fairly close by it was a treat to cook a meal of your own. The room was spacious and clean, and we had a balcony over looking the water. Hvala!
good stay overall but very hard to find -- could do with better directions.
The hostel is located quite close to the old city (10 min walking downhill). Going uphill involves a fair amount of stairs. However, the bus station is very close to the hostel, making the return by bus very convenient. Being so high above the city guarantees a very nice view over the coast. Cleanliness is exemplary and the room comfortable. The owner is very helpful and dear. Overall, the stay was enjoyable, peaceful and a good value.
Great stay here. Excellent place for backpackers needing a break from the big party hostel environment. Lots of steps to get to old town but totally worth it for the money you save and the beautiful view you get. The owner was very kind she lent us her umbrella when it was raining without even asking. She also helped us book bus tickets. Kitchen and laundry for free are a definite plus. My sister and I were very happy with the value of this place.
Brilliant location in Dubrovnik. Our hosts were really lovely. Wouldn't change a thing!
We only had a brief stay here as we were leaving the next day, but the hostel was perfect for what we needed. It did take a pretty long time to find it from the town centre (there are two separate sites), and we had to climb a lot of steps, but that's rather inevitable in Dubrovnik! Luckily we were met by the host to show us the last part of the way. The owners were charming and very welcoming, and we had everything we needed in terms of facilities.
Nice place and people but à little far some the old place, à lit of stages to clim, but really good in general! Big rooms!
Beautiful hostel and really nice owners, they helped if we had some questions. There were lots of stairs between the old town and the hostel but it didn't matter.
Very clean rooms and bathrooms. Even though it was outside the Old town it was only about a 10 minute walk from the Old town walls. Great value for your money and the couple that owns the apartments are super nice and helpful. They were an older couple and the wife greeted us with juice and cookies which we thought was super sweet! The husband explained how to get to and from the Old town by bus and walking and was super helpful. Loved this place, it was very calm and serene which was nice.
It's a bit of a distance from the old town, mainly in terms of stairs going uphill - but no more than 10-15 mins walk. Besides that, it's a lovely and spacious apartment and the hosts were very kind and friendly. It was also very clean and comfortable. Would recommend it to anyone who wouldn't mind the walk.
The old couple who runs this guesthouse are really sweet. The husband welcomed us with cookies and lemonade. The location though was really hard to find cos directions is useless. You can get a taxi there which is a little expensive so my best advise is to start from pile gate near old town and follow the stairs next to a pizzaria and just continue uphill 10-15 minutes.

The hosts were very gracious and friendly. They greeted us with cookies and juice and recommended sights and restaurants. Our room, shared bathrooms, and the kitchen were immaculate, and what a view! Signs encourage guests to leave bathrooms cleaner than they found them. There should be garbage cans in the rooms and bathrooms to help guests do this more efficiently. Also, the bathroom rugs could be cleaned more often or even eliminated because of heavy foot traffic. We loved this place!
Although you have to climb a lot of stairs to reach this property, it still is the best option to stay in Dubrovnik if you dont want to be in a dorm. Really nice rooms with excellent facilities on about 10 minutes from Old Town. Could really recommend booking Stella apartments!
Although it is close to the old town it requires the use of public bus or climbing a big amount of stairs. Be aware that this place is on the top of the hill as is quite difficult to reach by walking.
We had a great stay at Apartments Stella. The hosts are very kind, gave us a warm welcome and made our stay enjoyable. The room was clean and nice as was the bathroom. From the balcony we had a priceless view on the old town of Dubrovnik and the ocean. The apartment has a guest kitchen, which is great if you want to prepare your own food. The only problem for us was to find the apartment. We would recommend to print out a map beforehand and walk from Pile Gate or take a cab right away.
Apartments and rooms Stella was the nicest place we stayed on our trip. Very cosy atmosphere, lovely view to the Adriatic Sea and friendly hosts. Closed shutters for shade and open windows to let the sea breeze in. That's a sleep to remember. You will get up though, because you'll be eager to open the shutters and see how the Adriatic looks this morning.

LOVED this place. Really sweet owners and you get a great view. You have to walk up about a million stairs and you'll probably want to take a taxi or bus here, but it's totally worth it.
