The hotel's location (rue Saint Denis) is known for sex shops, etc. One might thus get the impression that it is not safe, but it indeed is a very safe place - I confirmed this not just by staying there for a few days but from my French friends who are local experts. It's a safe place conveniently located as far as metro goes - it's on line #4 (Reaumur Sebastopol); so you can quickly get to gare de l'est, gare du nord or Chatelet / Les Halles (all in 2 or 3 stops).

I enjoyed my time here. The hotel was very French. The location was fantastic - close to shops, transport and restaurants. It was also clean and secure. There were no internet facilities, unless you had your laptop.

A tiny and lovely hotel in the city centre. Staff speak English reasonably well, and although our curtain fell off the first time we opened the window, they fixed it quite fast. Our bathroom was quite small and we decided better not to open the cabinet at all, however, we've never found earlier any hotel for this price (€65 per night) in Paris. If you could live with some discomfort, this hotel would probably be the best value for your money.

I've been to several hotels in Paris and this one had by far the best value for my money. It takes exactly 8 minutes walking (I measured it once) to the RER station at Chatelet-Les Halles, the staff is helpful and the room is acceptable for the price. Rue Saint Denis might look a bit dangerous, but I've never had or seen any trouble on the street. However, you shouldn't forget that the reception is closed between 1PM and 4PM. That caused some headache to me when I arrived from the airport...

Safe, central and clean place to stay for a very very good price in Paris. Yes there isn't an elevator, and bathroom/shower are shared, but they work and are clean and did I mention what a good price in a great location???
