A positive overall experience. Just some problems with the hot water and the room was very cold.
Good value for money. I recommend. The place looks great, but don't expect everything to be in perfect shape as it´s an old house. The staff is very helpful. The downsides are minor, IMHO, but here they are: - if you are on the ground floor you can hear every single step from the room above. - It's a rather steep uphill walk to get there. - You can use the kitchen (big plus for me) but don't expect much from it.
The rooms are cold as a draft comes in through the door and window cracks. It also stank of paint as the bathroom must have had a fresh coat recently, as there was splash marks all over the bathroom and no shower curtain. The shower was hot though. Also we lost several items of laundry and I had to ask to check other people's piles to get them back (we still lost some undies though). Oh and it is up a giant hill so it is a pain to get home at night. Wifi good.
A really lovely hostel with nice rooms and friendly staff. It was at the top of a hill which we didn't realise from the map so it was a bit of a hassle to drag our bags up there in the morning but there was a great view from the top. Good amount of choice for breakfast and the staff tried everything to help when we were locked out of our room (they even brought a saw out for the lock, but we told them we'd just wait till the others returned). Overall great stay.
Very far up on the hill, if you like climbing you're gonna love it! Not much of facilities but internet is fine, shower is hot, Breakfast is very poor as almost everywhere in Peru. No lockers, nice stuff, nice building and garden.
The staff weren't the most helpful in the world, especially considering that their phone number didn't work, which was a little bit of a nightmare, having been lost for about twenty minutes because the directions in hostel world were useless, the pricing information incorrect, and none of the three taxis we were in knew the address. Another thing was that there were only two showers for the whole hostel, and if one was running, the other would not.
Great hostel. In the heart of Cusco, just up the hill from the city centre. Beautiful courtyard and great views. Breakfast quite good. Some great staff, others not so great. Overall, highly recommended! In winter, it's good to have a sleeping bag handy. When we stayed there they ran out of extra blankets and it got quite cold at night.
Nice hostel. Breakfast as usual. Hot showers, comfy beds. Great location up on the hill (quite steep walking up, especially when coming home after a few drinks) with courtyard and beautiful views over the city. Luggage storage available when going to Machu Picchu. Recommended.
Might be great choice in summer, but we were there in June (winter) and it was very cold in the rooms and bathrooms as there are just old wooden door with a lot of gaps around so you sleep and take shower in the same temperature as outside which migh be around 5°C in this time. Otherwise it's nice place with beautifull garden and easily walkable distance to the city center and other places of interest.
