This hostel has so much potential to be amazing if the rooms were nicer, the WIFI worked and the kitchen facilities were improved.

The hostel is nice, but the room we had was right above the bar, which made it quite difficult to sleep while there was a party going on. Luckily they swap evenings with the Che lagarto next door. One night there's food and a party at the Aquario and the other night food and party at Che Lagarto. The hostel is located at the end of the beach. If you want to get something from a small supermarket it is a 10 min walk. Staff is friendly but only a few of them speak some english.

The hostel is lovely, very well located with characteristically decorated rooms. Although the staff was very kind, I am obliged to point out that they were a bit negligent and didn't speak english. Since we took the last boat to Ilha Grande, we arrived after 10pm and there was no one there to tell us which room to go to or even open the door to us. After browsing the whole hostel for someone, a lady eventually showed up and gave us the key. Also, the breakfast could use some improvement.

The Aquario...is a hostel right at the beach front with its own boat for transport. BUT they always make it sound as if it is the only place where you can stay on the beach and it definitely is not!!! There are a lot of nicer pousadas along the beach and some are even cheaper! The dorms at Aquario were tiny, super rammed, dirty, there was no real lounge area and the bars closed on alternating nights, the staff's not very friendly. The location is beautiful of course, but thats about it.

A hostel in a great location with a great party atmosphere. the proximity to che largarto is also good and the food offered, particularly the all you can eat bbq was fantastic. They could do with a few more english speaking staff and the beds were of varying standards (missing slats/ladders) but this is a small worry on such a beautiful island. all in all a good place to stay and probably the islands best option!

Awesome location! Friendly staff. Decent breakfast. Room was cleaned everyday. Overall the facilities are nothing amazing, but nothing beats waking up to the sound of waves crashing on the shore, and breakfast right by the water.

I stayed there for a week and was very pleased with the hostal. it was a fabulous location and really cheered my up opening the door in the morning to see the beautiful view. I loved the variety of dogs and the cat whose position of choice was on top of the TV.

nice location, amazing view on the sea. the staff was very frendly and can meet also people of the hostel next to it, che lagarto. these two hostels are "friends", so you can go one to the other and have nice time in both. Staff tries to help you to have a really nice stay, and that´s what I had.

Beautiful location and helpful staff! Good breakfast (white bread, juice, ham, cheese, fruits, coffee), very nice BBQ on tuesday's, nice parties and relaxed atmosphere. NB: Cash is king and there is no ATM at the island.

Though it's not the cleanest of places, it's the best place to be. Nothing beats waking up, opening your door and being on the beach. Also, if you like to party this hostel is the best place to be. It's the only place where there's party every night, and it's insanely good.

llha Grande is a great island, every night the party swops between aquario and che lagarto. dont expect to much, everything on the island is expensive but if you want a simple roof over your head, than stay here.

Very nice bed and breakfast. The single room was a loft with its own bathroom and lots of room. Breakfast served each day on the deck and great people staying there. I expected to not meet anyone at this place because it is not a hostel. However I met some great people. A few were young people who headed down to the hostels to party at night then came back to rest at a nice peaceful location. A few were a little older and just enjoying a good time on a nice island.

The location is great and the private double rooms are a very good deal. Nice views with nice private bathroom and comfortable beds. The breakfast was also nice in a beautiful location. In contrast, the kitchen was really dirty. In the night, there was no atmosphere at all. The good thing, you can acess the Che lagarto hostel next door, with great dinners and live music.
