The staff are fair, helpful and friendly. The location is perhaps too quirky and gritty for some, but it is in Islamic Cairo. We felt is was over-rated on this site as the facilities are not that good and some of the rooms are tired and grubby looking. However, it is far from being the worst, but could be so much better.(Beware it is not 'Downtown' as the address on Hostel world suggests)The staff are fair, helpful and friendly. We stayed at Arabian Nights for one week in Oktober.We had a great time.The staff was very friendly and helpful.We had a lot of fun with them.Our room was clean,with air con and a small fridge.We had a free breakfast on the nice \"arabian\" roof terrace. The location is excellent - Islamic quarter - the place where you can experience the real life of the real Cairo people. Brilliant, lovley continental breakfast, nice clean spacious rooms with air conditioning. Extremley friendly staff, if you needed anything they were more than happy to help, if it was ordering something to eat or just generally getting about. One of the best hotels ever stayed in. It is a backpacker in one of the poorest areas in the world, old Cairo and so it is not the ritz but the service makes up for any atheistic shortcoming. I am a photographer and the area is a gem ,the people saints. Don’t have enough words to express my delight with what the staff would do for us and how it was a real mixing it with the people travel experience. Islamic Cairo is a hidden treasure for a tourist in cairo that won’t disappoint the senses. One of the best hotels ever stayed in.
