The staff are fair, helpful and friendly. The location is perhaps too quirky and gritty for some, but it is in Islamic Cairo. We felt is was over-rated on this site as the facilities are not that good and some of the rooms are tired and grubby looking. However, it is far from being the worst, but could be so much better.(Beware it is not 'Downtown' as the address on Hostel world suggests)

We stayed at Arabian Nights for one week in Oktober. We had a great time. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a lot of fun with them. Our room was clean, with air con and a small fridge. We had a free breakfast on the nice \"arabian\" roof terrace. The location is excellent - Islamic quarter - the place where you can experience the real life of the real Cairo people. Next time in Cairo, we´ll stay there again.

Brilliant, lovley continental breakfast, nice clean spacious rooms with air conditioning. Extremley friendly staff, if you needed anything they were more than happy to help, if it was ordering something to eat or just generally getting about. Mohammed the receptionist was polite and helpfull. cant wait to go back next summer!

One of the best hotels ever stayed in. It is a backpacker in one of the poorest areas in the world, old Cairo and so it is not the ritz but the service makes up for any atheistic shortcoming. I am a photographer and the area is a gem ,the people saints. Don’t have enough words to express my delight with what the staff would do for us and how it was a real mixing it with the people travel experience. Islamic Cairo is a hidden treasure for a tourist in cairo that won’t disappoint the senses.

The hostel was great.the stuff helped me everytime i asked them to and they were very kind+funny.they were cleaning the hotel every day-and even for a german i think,it really was clean:0) the breakfast was good and the tea even better.the location was perfect to go shopping at aataba and yet sitting on the hostel-roof was like getting a little peace within cairo.the room was big enough and the bathroom pretty good.air conditioner and refrigerator in my own room made my life more comfortable:O)
