Staff helpful and freindly, the hostel is a bit far from the centre but it is next to a metro station. Not an ideal environment to meet people, but still not impossible either. Everything was clean and kitchen was good.

A great little hostel which i would have rated higher if it was in a better location. Admittedly the train station was a 2 minute walk and then the train was 15 minutes into the city, but it was at least a 30 minute trip to the nearest supermarket. I understand though it's main purpose is to serve the nearby stadium. Staff were great and its without a doubt the cleanest and most secure hostel i have stayed in. Kitchen is excellent and the complimentary sweets on the pillow is a nice touch.

the hostel is a bit out of the city center, around some kind of industrial area, but totally worth the price! it's surprisingly clean and nice. their kitchen is well equipped, perfect for even longer stay when you want to cook more. they don't provide breakfast, but the kitchen pays it off. the staffs were also helpful, making my stay (along with other 4 friends) were really convenient.

Excellent place, excellent people, everything works tic tac, it's really clean and looks awesome, totally recommended.

Even though this hostel was nice and clean it is more a place for families than backpackers, I would say. It is more a place where people mind their own business (fair enough). In order to reach the city, you must take the train for about 15 minutes and the tickets are expensive (3 euro and 10 cent each direction).

Dear guest! We say to every guest at check in, the one-day ticket (9am until 6am the next morning) costs 6,00 euros. With the day ticket you can drive by train, bus, subways and you can use the ferry at the port of Hamburg as often as you want.

A great find. Out of town but on a train route back into the city centre (6euros for a day pass). The hostel is clean and quiet. Good parking available. Great road and train links in and out of the hostel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was great. Clean and quiet and with a little balcony. Walking distance to the arena and Hamburg football stadium. Would stay here again! Oh and Hamburg was a real surprise; what a great city.

place was full of truckers staying there ( I guess they were waiting for their loads to be ready). only met one young traveller there, only to recommend if you stay one night. facilities were clean and organized and the staff was friendly and helpful.

It was my first ever time staying in a hostel, and I only have positive things to say after my stay at Arena! The staff were really nice, and also quite chilled (I was arriving after hours, and they had a whole system in place, and were very casual about me paying the next day etc). The room was really clean, a nice big safe for each person, shower and bathroom facilities were great, and the location is right next to the station, so I really couldn't ask for more!

Very clean hostel with good space and facilities. The bathrooms were very clean as well as the common room. The staff was very helpful as well. The only issue is there's not much options for food nearby - the breakfast place downstairs closes at 1pm but there is another down the street (didn't visit). It is close to the train, but it's still a ways out of town.

I stayed at this hostel for 6 nights and found that all my needs were satisfied. Comfortable, clean bed, clean bathrooms and shower rooms. Kitchen had communal fridge/freezer where you can label and store your food items. A supermarket is fairly near the hostel as well as a metro station which is literally around the corner. Friendly staff who can help with ideas of what do to with your day. The communal area is great for meeting other travellers. Have only good things to say about this hostel.

No sheets on the bed, and you have to pay for the duvet if you use it. No breakfast places near by open on weekends. 20 minutes away by s-bahn from the downtown. It was okay, nothing special.

The atmosphere is not special but just good. The hostel is closely located to the city train.

We had a double room, which was very nicely decorated. Although we agreed on bringing our own covers, we were disappointed to see how dirty the bed sheets were! The bathroom was clean, but the rest of the room could use a bit of vacuuming. Additionally, the nearest store is located quite far away, which would be inconvenient, if we didn't have a car. Apart from that, the hostel has a very well equipped kitchen and friendly staff - it was therefore nevertheless a nice experience.
