A huge thank you to Allan, Freddie and Allonso for making my stay at Arenal backpackers Resort so wonderful. You three have been so lovely and helpful. What a treat to have staff that speak such excellent english and make you feel so welcome from the very first day. I thought I was only going to stay here for 2 nights but it was too hard to leave, I ended up staying for 6! I will very happily recommend this hostel to everyone back in Australia, thanks again guys.

Diego is amazing! He helped us book all of our tours. They are very honest about what tours are good and have great prices! Not to mention that Diego is some good eye candy...so is his brother Ignacio! :)

This is the most amazing hostel I´ve ever stayed and recommend it to anyone who is looking for the best possible option for a hostel in La Fortuna. Freddy from the staff is super helpful and makes sure every single guest is pleased, food is amazing (not included) and the rooms very clean. The best part of it is the pool; Great experience.

This was almost like a hotel it was so nice and had a great pool. They offer many trips to do but be careful you dont go in the rain as you dont get your money back. Staff were helpful, food nice and rooms really clean.

Had a great time staying at Backpackers! The people working at the front desk were great. They learned our names, and advised us about tours. The pool was always busy, and a great way to meet people and just have a good chat. Felt like we were in paradise sitting in the chairs looking at palm tress. Skip the bar/restaurant. Food was okay, but the service was VERY slow. The hostel is right near the downtown, so take advantage of walking around!

Although this hostel is great, clean and safe, the staff left something to be desired. The guy who worked in the kitchen in the mornings never smiled and was always grouchy. The front desk guy (when you finally got your turn to talk to him. One guy to book tours and answer questions for the whole hostel is not enough) was helpful but once he was done helping you, he was gone or was busy already with someone else. Other than that, it's in a great location and the hammocks and pool are great!

just Amaizing . will be hard to beat this one, even for a good hotel. I don't see the profits for the one how owns it, its all brand new and 5* for the same price of other hostels

When I got to the Hotel I was told no reservation was ever made by Hostels.com. I had to go find myself another place to stay.. and my plans for the weekend were totally ruined. I know the problem was not there fault but I think they could have express more sympathy for my problem. But that was not the case. At all.

I believe in the email when mentioning that you need to arrive by 4pm to maintain reservation you should also give option to fully pay now to reserve

This place lived up to its "resort" name. Absolutely loved it and was in a great location. Clean and staff was extremely helpful! Would've enjoyed a free breakfast but the restaurant was great.

Even though i had booked my stay two weeks in advance, they told me they did not have a reservation on my name and we had to move into a more expensive room. I also had called the hostel in the morning on the day i arrived there, but they denied I called them to confirm my reservation.

This is the nicest hostel I have EVER seen! We stayed in one of the safari tents and it was great. Comfortable bed, electricity, clean floor. The staff is really knowlegable and helpful. The pool is so nice. There are tons of great tours you can take, but FYI the volcano is dormant, so you won't be seeing any lava!
