One of the cleanest, nicest hostels I've stayed at. It really is a backpackers resort and I would recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable nice place to stay in la fortuna.

Great location not too far from the center of town. Very clean. Always had hot water. Crowded but definitely worth the cost.

One of the best hostels I have stayed at in Costa Rica. The staff were very informative and eager to help with arranging activities. The ambiance was very welcoming. Kitchen prepared delicious and filling meals for reasonable prices. Excellent location.

Arenal Backpackers is a great dorm option to stay in. It's cheap, most of the rooms have A/C, hot showers, and are kept really clean. It is also a great place to hang out and meet people at the pool or the bar/restaurant area. The tours they offer are all way overpriced, so ask where the supermercado is and there's a great place right across the street from it to book tours that are cheaper!

Its a great hostel with everything you need and a very helpful staff. Food can be a little expensive but there are nice places to eat near by. Totally recommended.

It's a nice place to stay. The swimming pool is really nice, the staff is helpful. There is no Kitchen but there is a nice restaurant... I would recommend this place and would definitely stay again.

It was a great place to start our trip in Costa Rica. The staff was very attentive and helpful with scheduling tours. Their recommended night tour turned out to be one of the highlights of the trip. The pool was refreshing and the food was delicious. If you take the night tour that's just next door, say hello to Giovanni for me. Pura Vida!

One of the nicest hostels I've ever stayed at. The pool is nice and people take advantage of it. Staff pointed me in the right direction everytime I had a question. The Hostel is nicer then the city of La Fortuna in my opinion.

Arenal backpackers has a nice front staff, organises tours which seem to have similar prices to other agencies, and has a delightful front garden and a swimming pool. There's wi-fi but no computers. The weird thing: all rooms have large front windows which open towards the pool. And they do open- the maids open them every day to ventilate the rooms. So at that point all your stuff is in clear view of the whole world. Also the maids will move your stuff around, which I personally hate.

Clean, well maintained, fair price. Food was good & moderate priced, especially compared to the tourist geared prices in area. The staff was young and not always the most helpful. BUT the cleaning ladies did our LAUNDRY FOR FREE! They folded it too! Had a tent for 2 nights- Good size & bed was very comfortable. However, the staff played america hit-list music loud at night until11. there's a club across the street. Tents good if you want to stay out late, not so good if you want sleep.

This hostel was awesome. From the pool, to the restaurant and bar (they even offer hookah!), to the great rooms and free internet, it was seriously better than most hotels I've stayed at. The staff is super helpful (not to mention good looking) and gave us lots of recommendations and answered all of our questions. They have an awesome happy hour at the bar and the food is really good too (definitely recommend the chicken quesadilla). stay here, you won't regret it!

Very nice hostel. Clean. Helpful and kind staff. Nice pool. Beautiful grounds. Felt very safe. Beds were quit hard and noisy, with very thin/cheap blanket. Good food at a reasonable price. No electrical outlet in bedroom...one dual plug in bathroom.

Nice...it is more like a hotel atmosphere. No social area or kitchen.

The hostel was extremely clean; I have stayed at a lot of hostels in the past and this is honestly one of the cleanest hostels I have ever stayed at. The staff was extremely bright, organized, responsible and very helpful. I mostly dealt with Alen at the front desk; he was really helpful and knowledgeable about the different tours offered in La Fortuna and Arenal. It was helpful that the complexe had a restaurant, although I wish they had a kitchen I could have cooked in. A clean/nice pool.

Enjoyed my one-night stay. Nice pool, short walk to restaurants and town. Short cab ride to hot springs. No ladders for bunk beds. Very helpful staff.

We would not recommend this hostel - no quiet place to go unwind. Loud music tries to project a party atmosphere - some of the music is extremely vulgar.

Owner Comment (Show)
Hi! We are sorry you didn't enjoyed our hostel. We do not promote our-selfs as a quiet hostel or a party hostel. We try to make a nice fun atmosphere where people can listen to music, meet other people and have a cold beer after a long day of activities. Our quiet hours start at 11pm. Our music, is must of the time local slow reggae and you guys can request any kind of music you want, at the end of the day we just want people to enjoy a real luxury HOSTEL vibe and RELAX with a beer. Like we say Pura Vida! ;)
